I just got done talking to my dealer and he said that the svt's at the factory have all been put on hold as they have found a problem with the throttle linkage. Apparently it is too long and could get stuck open. He said it should be a quick fix, if that is possible.

Well, I hope your dealer is full of it. IF this is true we should get confirmation pretty quick from people that have already taken delivery.

No - I haven't received confirmation, but if SVT is acknowledging it via the 1-800 #, there is probably some truth to it. Give it time to play out before going postal.

No worries... If it is a problem, I'm glad they found it now. Better to hold up the cars now, rather than deal with annoying recalls later on.

I'm nursing a rapidly dying car. If I could take delivery and give it right back for warranty repair they would give me a loaner. |

My dealer is a good guy and I know he's not going to be yanking my chain. That's why I posted, and wanted to know if others "inside" had the same info.

My question is what about the SVT's that have already shipped and should be on the trucks for delivery? When I last spoke with my dealer yesterday the delivery date was scheduled for either 4/12 or 4/13. Will they just be holding the cars at the dealers for a fix? or will they be sending them back to the factory? If it is back to the factory that is going to suck royally especially since that will add about a month or longer to all the deliveries

They will not send it to the Factory....Ford will provide the dealer with the necessary items needed to fix the vehicle and before they hit the lot, they will be fixed

So what's wrong with the throttle sticking wide open? That's where mine is all the time anyway.

What about those regional staging areas that cars go to before they get farmed out to dealers?? I know that they do the initial PDI on the vehicles, but would they also be equipped to handle a problem if there was one??
Cos - can you find out if any TSBs have been issued by SVT for the Focus? That may settle this topic if the answer is no. >8^) ER |

Thanks Cos, So basicly Ford will be getting the parts to the dealer and the dealer will do the repairs before they allow me to take delivery? I would perfer to take delivery and then get a loaner to drive since I go tomorrow to pick up the check to give the dealer....sigh |

I ran Davester's VIN (3FAHP39552R185542) on OASIS for fast Idle, slow return to idle, etc... no TSB's or FSA's at this point.
Good luck, Larry |

My dealer told me that mine was on the truck and that it would not be comming(it was going to be here last night). That is untill ford decided what they wanted to do with the problem. So they are not sending the ones that are on the trucks as far as I know.

I'm just glad I can get to work. It's the only reason I picked a different car. |
