Competition Package SVT Focus spotted at Knotts Berry farm show... - Focaljet

I went to Fabulous Fords Forever at Knotts Berry Farm today.. SVT had the NEW SVT Focus concept on display..YES this is the car that was posted the other day that wasnt supposed to be. Im sure its fine to talk about it now that it was shown at the biggest Ford show in the world.. LOL. It was not supposed to be shown till SEMA next week at Long Beach, but I guess SVT decided to reveal it to the thousands or Ford fans that were there.

It is Really cool with a claimed 180hp, Carbon Fiber hood, Sparco Seats, No radio, A/c, or back seat. Very low on white OZ Superleggras. I would love to have this car...Im sure someone will have all the info on this ASAP to post.

BTW the New Cobra was there, pretty cool. There were about 7-9 Foci at the show and a couple of jetters...

Its not called the "Focus R". Just keeping misinformation off the boards. We will learn its Real name @ SEMA. [img]graemlins/thumbup.gif[/img]

Until i hear otherwise that this info cannot remain on the boards i'm leaving it here. But like u said if SVT decides they can show it at a Ford show infront of thousands than it can be reported here. Thanx for the info! Can't wait to see more pics.

very exciting .. i didn't think anything like this would happen (and I think a lot of other people did not expect it either) for ford's fear of encroaching on the holy mustang's position ..

Wonder what it costs? Cobra R is what, 55 grand?

Yeah Im sure PELOTON25 will post Pics.. I didnt see him there, but he told me he was going. Im not sure what the Name is of this thing, but everyone was refering to it as the FOCUS R...I think it was just called the Race Prepped Focus.. hell I dont know, I dont care. I was too busy checking it out.
I took a photo, but it was with a regular camera, and I have no way to post it. I just called it VERY COOL. THe Hood looked soo sweet, it was carbon fiber, but the only the middle was left carbon, while the outside edges were painted red to match the car.

Whats interesting is that there really wasnt much interst in it... [img]images/icons/confused.gif[/img] I dont think anyone new what it was, I think everyone just thought it was a hopped up Focus... Most people were looking at the NEW Cobra. [img]images/icons/grin.gif[/img]

Its a show car, show cars are almost always dressed up with decals and sponsers. When we can give u info from SEMA u will understand more why the car has so many decals. Plus it doesn't have a coffee can exhuast....

the exhaust is borla, and it looks nice. Like I said earlier, there wasnt really anyone looking at it. More people were looking at the Cobra and regular SVT Focus... Its nothing wild, its just really cool to see a race prepped, stripped down Focus. If I bought a Focus, I would do the same thing anyways, so its cool you can buy one like that already [img]images/icons/grin.gif[/img]

actually the neon he's racing is owned by nick reily here in phoenix. the neon is a bad mofo, it runs 13's with only bolt ons, it also only weighs 1820 lbs. No times for that car will be posted here cause us dezert focus jetters were sworn to secrecy of not telling. [img]images/icons/grin.gif[/img]

Dammit! I'm so freakin' jelous right now its not funny! Luckily I have my turbo... but jesus. *droooool* It has pretty much everything I was aiming for factory.

Hopefully it'll be really expensive and then I won't feel so bad. [img]images/icons/grin.gif[/img] Let me transcribe, since its difficult to read:

180hp (added horsies are nice)

Weight savings accomplished by:
Removal of NVH
Air conditioning delete
Rear seat delete (btw, very curious what it looks like)
Radio system Delete
Lightweight front seats
Material changes:
-Hood
-Flywheel
-wheels
-intake
-exhaust
-crank windows
-engine accessory pulley
(Self note, replacing the jack, bar, spare is another good 45lbs and add a dyna-batt minus big battery bracket for another 35lbs and its 2460lbs!!!)

Structural improvements:
Seam welded body... can't read the rest...

Couldn't read the LSD part, but I trust ya!
