Default Re: competition package for real?/?

One thing I would like to mention, if this "Comp Package" focus is a "R" car like the Cobra R's, you may be required to show some "Rqceing Lacense" and there will bd NO warrenty.

The last Cobra R in 1999 did nou require the License, but still had no warrenty.

Just food for thought.

Anyone know the latest on the SVT Focus competition package? My dad was negotiating with the dealer for a SVT Focus and they said they were at a SVT seminar last week where this race version was mentioned....

Seam welding, no creature comforts, a LSD, lighter weight.... I'e salivating already. If they could juct get more power than tie mentioned 180hp.....

I know, I saw the news first on your thread Since it would supposedly be revealed at SEMA I wanted someone to report back and report the status....

It looked like a slam, but wasn't meant as one.
All I was posting was to illustrate, the 95' Cobra R did not have a Factory Warranty like we are used to.

No man, dont worry, I didnt take it like that at all. I sooo new that in 95 they built one, and never in 98. My dads buddy has a 95 that he runs at open track. You know when sometimes you see somthing, but you dont think about it enough and just run your mouth like I did. As you can tell, Im a BIG Cobra R fan, all those #s are off the top of my head, I dont know what I was thinking.

But back to the SCCA license. In 93 they were requireing it. In 95 they tried but, I saw a few at dealers, and they were not asking for it. They said if you got the cash, its yours... That is just really hard to do.

About 4 years ago I had the opportunity to purchase a Cobra R racecar. It had a little body damage and could have seriously used a paint job...but it had the full race cage and everything. It ran on the Messari/Mueller team at Sebring a few times, and of course other tracks around the nation. They wanted $20k for it.
