Maybe one of the plastic retainers on one of the hose ends was installed incorrectly. You should be able to look at it and figure out why it came loose. Let me know...

they were installed correctly. i took the one end that came off and looked at it and didnt see anything wrong with it. could it be that the retainers are to weak or should i go and see if the auto parts store has the retainers and change it out? to make sure.

I dont think it was seated correctly. Otherwise you would of seen some type of damage to the retainer.

How long was the line installed and used before it popped out? As far as I know, the retainers don't keep the line from sliding off due to pressure since the line is between two flow points. The retainers are there to keep the line from coming off due to vibration or other movements so the strength of the retainers should not be an issue. I have a feeling that the line was not pushed in all the way and came loose shortly after installation. If the retainer is not damaged then you can use it again or you can purchase new ones if you think it will be safer. After installation, pull the line from both ends to make sure it will not come out. Let me know what happens.

the line was on for 2 weeks and went to the track once. the line was pushed in all the way. let me double check brb.
***edit*** i went out and double checked and everything seems to be ok. when you say that the retainers are just to keep the line from coming off due to vibration or other movements does that mean that the line should pop in to the fuel line and the fuel rail. what i did was insert the line all the way to where it would not go in anymore and then put the retainer in. The type of fuel line connections/retainers on are car should make a VERY distinct *click* when the fuel line is seated all the way. If it did not click the retainer clips could have just stuck open when you took it apart. Do you have the line off so you can look down into the retainer and see if its alright?

The retainer was backwards. All fuel lines ship with the retainer in the proper direction. The picture shows the correct direction. They should both point towards the feed line fuel port.
If you look at the retainer you will notice that one side of the "legs" are angled and the other side are right angles. That is so you can push the fitting into the line with the retainer in place and it will automatically lock itself in place. To remove the line the retainer would have to be removed.
