Default Anyone used the BatInc roof rack?

just wanting to find out how it holds up, how much weight it holds etc...

looking to put 2 kayaks at most on it. Thats about 130 pounds

kayaks would actually be on the thule crossroads adapters but the attachment to the SVT would still be the Batinc brackets.

OR if you guys know where I can get brackets like the batinc rack has I can make rails to work for the thule

thule says they have a 2063 fit kit but I cant find pictures of it to see if they are brackets that use the screws over the door like the Batinc

I have one. It's rated at 75 Kg, don't know the conversion to lbs. The kit comes with the brackest that attach to the car, 2 side rails and 2 cross bars. The corss bars are squarish and you should be able to mount any Thule pruduct to it, I run 2 Thule bike holders and 2 wheel mounts.

The nice thing about the rack sold by BAT is that it's an actual Ford product, and the car is designed to receive it, so there's no need for a fit kit, and less chance of damage during installation/removal.

When you open your driver and passenger door, you should be able to locate the mounting holes under the rubber weather stripping on the top half of the door opening on the car. You should see 2 black plastic screws that are protecting the holes where the roof rack attaches, near the middle of the opening.

On the hatch side, you have to dig out two caulked threaded holes (their location is indicated in the install instructions).

It's a nice rack, and a perfect fit. I can take some pictures of the mounting points to give you a better idea. PM me if you need.

You can modify the rear crossbrace to position it farther back to distribute the weight of a kayak or 2 better!

Yes, I forget what model number. It's the one where you take off your front wheel and clamp your forkes in and the back wheel is straped down into the rack.

That rack is a nice little unit. If I ever need a rack, I'd definitely give this prime consideration...

The previous owner put foam pads underneath to support his kayak. He poked a hole thru the middle and zip-tied it.
