Unhappy SVTF issues....

Not 100% sure what it is or what to call it but im getting, what feel's like, throttle lag. When Im down shifting, the rpm's just hang out and dont reallly slow-my-roll the way it should. I've already taken my throttle body off and cleaned it, which was super dirty by the way) and it seems like it actually gotten worse. Help, anyone.......

I think what you're describing is a lack of compression braking (i.e., engine braking) when you lift off the throttle. Mine also refuses to compression brake. I've driven other newer cars that do this, too. Seems to be some emissions gremlin. This is easily my #1 aggravation with the car.

I've heard that a tune and an aluminum flywheel will make the car behave. Has that been anyone's experience?

Could be the TP sensor acting up. They're cheap and easy to replace.

Tune definitely helped me, it it only when you take your foot off the throttle?

My car does this too. It seems to just be when I am in certain gears though. It does it a lot in 3rd and seems to not like certain positions.

I've been having a weird problem that is simliar to this... my car would be idling at the first stop i get from when i started it.. My RPM's would just drop to a point where it sounds like the car would turn off then jump back up to about 1g... I'm thinking TP sensor as well?

It happens to me only when the engine is cold on low revs. After ~2mins it goes away.
I have a tune, aluminum fly and I have no complaints at all how my SVTf commpresion brakes (well actually I didn't have too many complaints before I added these mods but they definitely helped).

Mine definitely does the high revs when cold, but it goes away once it warms up, too.

As for compression braking, yours actually did it while stock? Maybe something's aways been wrong with my car. When I lift of the throttle, it just keeps on coasting, even at relatively high rpm. The revs just drop slowly. My previous car (mid '90s Z28): when you lifted on the throttle, it was like slamming on the brakes. Loved it. This car and my dad's mustang ('99 bullett, is that when they made them?) just do not compression brake, at all. Very frustrating to always have to be on the brakes.

Well I'm not really sure what amount of compression braking are we talking about as I have never driven such a cars like Z28 or similar. In my SVTf it's definitely not the same as slamming on the brakes but it isn't coasting very easily too (with mods).
When it was stock - I don't remember very well but I think it braked a little less than now.
I guess the thing is that I have never driven cars which stop hardly on a lift off and in my stopping scale SVTf does just quite well
