I have an 02 svt. when a idle I can hear popping coming from the intake manifold. could that be a fuel injector leecking? i also did a compression check #1-90 then 120 with oil #2 100 then 135 oil #3 105 then 145 oil #4 100 then 150 oil for compression. i know that is low for compression but i don't think that has anything to do with it. it was a junk yard motor with 90000 mi on it. the coolant temp sensor was bad and running rich I think that is why the compression is low and why the plug were almost melted away. i guess that is what you get for 500$
The plugs and coil have less then 5000 miles on them.every now and then the mil light comes on and there are 2 codes for the front o2 sensors i forget the code #. Also some times when i am accelerating right around 4800 and 5000 rpm it will loose power then after 5000 it is fine. I does not do it all the time either. |

The compression ratio on the factory svt focus is 10.2 compression. We offer pistons in .007 overbore and .027 overbore. .027 is the about the most I would recommend. Ford does not offer a factory overbore replacement, so a custom set would need to be made. We can have a custom set of CP Pistons made in stock compression or any compression you want. http://focus.c-f-m.com/newitemcppist...uszetec20.aspx. No piston manufacturer makes a piston set that is compatable to the factory SVT Rod, so you would need to purchase a set of zetec rods like the eagle h-beam rods http://focus.c-f-m.com/eagleforgeh-b...csvtst170.aspx.

Ford offers 3 sets of pistons for that motor. Depending on tooling date of the engine, could have the smaller pistons. But getting replacements may be hard. But anyways. If your going to do the work, might as well put a nicer set of pistons in.
While your on the subject, do your new Crower Rods fit the SVT piston or the Standard Zetec wrist pin?

The Crower rods work with the standard zetec wrist pin.
