hopefully this is just a "re-org" and hopefully a new group will be created that'll sell "SVT" products as "FRT" ala DC's "SRT".....

my escort GT was a fine car
but to do such a thing would make sense, you know ford cant do that. its against the rules

Ford consistently and continuously goes against common sense and focus groups. What did you expect?

I've always wondered why they didn't use GT more. New Mustang GT, a smash success and a killer car for the price (slight bias). new GT500, can we say drool machine. Ford GT, one of hte finest supercars and wet dreams ever built.

You guys should see these lame ass "Southern California Edition" '06 Stangs they're pushing out here....

Its a V-6 with GT wheels, "GT Tuned Suspension" and the funky foglight, but not rally-light GT front grille.

Lame.

That's the one. The TV commercials all brand as the "Southern California Limited Edition" but I'm sure thats just marketing hype to overcharge on the markup.

That photo is a regular Pony Package V6. The SCS (Southern California Special) and NCS (Northern California Special) are Pony Package cars with an additional $1K package including stripes, rear badging and chrome exhaust tips. They are also all automatics. Total production = 1,000.

The reason that Ford starting using ST moniker and not the GT moniker is that when Insurance companies see GT on a car, they jack up your car insurance!

If they were to listen the suggestions of the FocalJet majority (aka: mob mentality) they would be selling a Ford Focus ST225. You know how many FocalJetters would actually buy said car? Probably just as many that are going to buy a 2008 American Ford Focus.

Even if that were actually true, they would eventually figure out that ST means the same thing.

What do you think the VIN is for? It tells them everything they would ever want to know about the car.

SVO... SVE... SVT... Perhaps Ford needs to find someone new to name any potential future performance division/group.
