I won't lower myself to name calling or respond to that type of posting nonsense. You guys may believe that EVERYONE loved the Focus from the get go but I was a member of many forums back then and everyone HATED until they saw the ACTUAL car and not just pics on the Internet. After seeing the car in person most people really liked it.

I'd say this would make a better new generation Focus. It's still not as good looking as the first generation ones, but it's much better than the current '08 possibility.

Nit-pick why don't you. I'm saying it looks better as a new Focus than the actual new Focus does. It's more suited appearance-wise than Ford's idea, no matter how much you think it "looks like a Volvo" (which it does, but still....)

does it even share any styling with the MK1 Focus? I really don't see why you would say that it would make a better Focus. maybe because it is a hatchback? maybe the C30 should be a new escort then, it would suit it well

... and the sides (the rear quarter window is the wrong shape, and the fenders are nothing like the Focus. that and the side is very smooth looking)

I guess the underside and the roof of the car could make it a Focus though

I didn't even look at the price, I was just looking at the styling.

And zurno....look at the pics for the new Focus, the C30, and the old foci, hatcback or otherwise, and honestly tell me the new Focus looks more like the old ones than the C30.

I don't see much of a resemblence to the C3 besides a few spots that show they share the same platform (that you could see on the Mazda3 also)

interesting, you make it sound like the C170 focus doesn't look that much like the C1 Focus. so why does eveyone care that the 2008 focus doesn't look like the original Focus?

and is the euro hatches rear quarter glass the same as the 2008 coupes?

I never said the car pictured there doesn't resemble the Focus that we all know and love. Where are you getting this?

We care that the 2008 Focus doesn't look like the original because we don't want to see something so good become a thing of the past. It's the same reason so many people didn't like the new Holden...I mean Pontiac GTO's.

Yeah...and we all know how that turned out don't we...they didn't sell, they were slow and ugly, and they flopped so bad they were discontinued.

Body styles change. Get over it. What if the Corvette body shape were to NEVER have changed. We wouldn't have what we have now in the Z06. It would still be a small roadster. I'm not saying the Focus is the new Corvette or anything...but I am saying there are some people that need to have some common sense.

Things MUST and will change. You will get old. You will likely loose hair and possibly get fat and you won't like it. Auto companies will change body styles over the years, and it isn't always just to make you happy.
