WHAT im saying.

No body changes....but swapping out fogs is not a complete bumper-redesign as people compare it to.

And it would at 10x the appeal without them, they really ruin the front end as pink licence plate frames would.

man tho, i really love that hood/headlight design...boser FTW

Correct, I was just addressing those that were thinking the entire bumper was going to be reshaped.

Things like grill cutouts and the fogs could be tweaked based on feedback they've received.

I hate to say it because I'll be accused of being a fanboy but I actually liked the new Focus MUCH better in person. It's actually very hard to capture it's dimensions in pictures. I stood at the display for about 15 minutes and listened to people and their reactions. Almost all of them said something to the effect of "it looks a lot nicer than the current one." Now, I realize that this is at an auto show but I wasn't expecting such a positive reaction.

When I was at the auto this past saturday, there wasn't one person looking at the Focus...no one..the car sat there and spun and no one looked at it. The whole Ford exhibit is as plain jane as you can get. I am happy to know that the car is just as hideous in person as I thought it was in the pictures. I gave it an honest shot, but it did not deliver. People can say how nifty the interior is, and how swiftly it handles, however you need to get into the car to find that out...Looking at the outside, it wouldn't draw me in to allow me to recognize those traits. I'd puke in my mouth everytime I walked up to that car everyday if it were mine......I can't wait to see how Ford screws up the next rendition.....I don't think it can get any worse...

As I noted, Ford is and has been paying attention.

I love to start a thread and be empowered to delete non essential off topic comments like "Mac Sucks" where people made constructive comments and did debate.

Make a comment or suggestion then move on.

So I took a gander on Saturday in person. I have to admit, I do like the new treatment. The rear could have been slightly more adventurous, but overall it seems decent.

^^^ Exactly how I felt about the Original Focus when I saw it the first 150 times... and then the same reaction when I saw the facelift. The 2008 has more appeal to me than my first reactions to the one everyone else seems to have fallen in love with. Maybe its just that I'm getting older and/or more mature and my style is changing, but I see LOTS of potential with the 08! It took me buying my 03 for my wife for its size, reliability, safety, and price for me to start liking it!

well i agree with that it IS better than the current one, BUT is it better than the competition? Also what does ford think they are compearing with the car? Are they going against Scion, Yaris etc.. or are they going against Civic, jetta etc...

I think if it is the former it is good, if it is the latter, sync alone is not enough to gain these buyers.

and other than the "it looks better that it did" that is the other reaction i keep hearing.

Polorizing styling is good if people either LOVE or HATE it, but if people either can just stand it, or HATE it is NOT a good thing.
