Another good idea might be to do the plant tour, then head down to Milan Dragway for antics there. It's only about 25 minutes from Wayne ISA to Milan Dragway.

I could arrange for a REALLY fun there. My uncle runs his 8 sec S-10 at milan, and my mechanic has a Chevelle that runs in the 8's also. I can see if they want to put on a show.

I wonder how much it would cost to rent out the dragway so we could have some fun. I've got plenty of guys I could get to come out and put on a show. One guy I go to school with has a 6 Camaro that won the Heddman Headers Top ET class at Milan last year, it runs 10.20's, and now he has a top sportsman rail with a 509 Chevy big block w/nitrous that he's gonna run this year.

We could definitely have some fun if we could get the track to ourselves as part of a day.

I'll also jump on board with Matt and offer my services if needed, just let me know.

The biggest cost usually is the insurance. Whoever puts on this event will have to have the right coverage. Call me a worry-wart, but after doing enough events for SVTOA you want to ensure your keesters are covered. More than likely, the track/strip might have their own insurance policy. It'd then come down to any organizers and stuff. My guess is your connections at the track might have ideas on how to factor these issues.

On a side note, isn't FJ also promoting that one student Focus team in Michigan racing a Focus?

From the sounds of things, this can actually work. It'd take a lot of people to coordinate, but it sounds like there are a lot of people who would love to support FJ in making a stellar event.

I'd love to do it, but would be unable to attend if it were to happen this year. Time and money will probably only allow for one more trip tis year, and that is already planned.

Something to remember when choosing a date is that summer shutdown is the first two weeks in July. Just a thought.

That's why we probably expect it to be the second half of Aug. or first part of Sept.

Anytime this summer would work well for me, since its not that far of a drive.

unless its early august before school starts or on a weekend i couldn't make the tour. but i could hang with everyone on a weekend though.

I would need somewhere to crash too.
