Sign me up.

I'm new to the site, and this would be a perfect opp. to meet some of you. It also helps that I live around the corner from the plant.

I've made contact with Ford on this issue and they think it's a great idea. The only real, main issue right now is timeframe. They are looking into when the best feasible time would be and will be getting back to me soon.

I'll update everyone when I have more info.

(I didn't read through all 3 pages so maybe this has been covered)

Other - Why does the East Coast get ignored?

Focal xplosion 2002 - Midwest
JF 1 - Midwest
JF 2 - Far West
All FOTB's - Far West
JF 3 - Still Midwest

I'm sure there are some events that weren't in the East Coast that I'm missing too.

FX02 and FX03 were equivilants to FOTB, and were held in Carlisle, PA. However, since 2003, FX dissolved, and now its just a yearly regional G2G, instead of a super G2G.

I know FOTB and FX weren't "put on" by FJ, but considering the Midwest and West coast get so much action the East Coast should get one at some point.

Just a thought as well...

If this was the plant tour, would people be more interested in seeing the 07's being built or the new 08? Any ideas when the Job 1 date is for the 08's?

The PDMC Motorsports Focus is not running in World Challenge this season.

If this was going through, we should see if they're willing to haul the beast out for a showing.

Not to toss in more ideas, but the Ford Museum wouldn't be a far trek from there as well up to Dearborn.

I agree that the first week of August would be better as the kiddies (like me) have school come the third week of the month. I do like a lot of the ideas introduced and it'd be nice to have an official focus dragstrip meet.

3 hours for you?

At most London is 2 hours from the border. From the maps, Wayne shouldn't be more than 20 minutes from the border. So probably 2.5 hours at the most.

Worse comes to worse...JetFest at the St. Thomas plant

Just to clarify some points. This is NOT JF3. It is simply something we thought would be cool for Focus fans to do.

It's not a diss of the East Coast. Obviously the plant is where it is we'd have to go to IT no matter where it was. It just happens to be in MI. But don't worry, I'd love to head East, and we'll see what we can do in regards to future events.

We hope to put on a few, specialized G2Gs like this between now and the next JF. The Plant Tour G2G is not meant to be a national-level G2G, but of course everyone is welcome!

More than likely we will be seeing the '08s being built. I know that things will be crazy when the plant first re-opens after the new model year changeover. We will have to conform to their schedule, because in the first few weeks of production they may not even be offering tours.

I'm confident this G2G will happen, it's just a matter of when. We'll keep you posted.

actually, I've made it in about 1 3/4 hours from london to the ambassador in my work truck. I meant 3 hours giving me time to get thru customs, and stop at the service centers on the way down and stuff...

Well the east coast has all the other events there. FFW, power tour, offroad jamborees, Nopi, NHRA sport compact, many many others.

The rockies are the readheaded step children of the country no major events with in 500+ miles of here.

I would be great to have a G2G at the birth place for a majority of the Focus. Maybe a tour of Roush( Livonia, MI) SVT( if they are still around) in Dearborn. Ford twin towers.

Luckily that one didn't get into the chopper (unlike some other stuff )

Question for the MI folks:
How far is the plant from the border, say from the Ambassador Bridge?
