they should not have let that tim guy be the leader. im sure the other guys didnt want the car looking like that. i feel bad for them having to work with tim. hopefully they open their own shop and build a true badass mini.

I think Tim had a great vision for the car that just didn't fit into the timetable or the theme of the show, that's all. Not everyone can win, and I'd think if he gave it another go it could come out much better. It's too bad they didn't put enough work into the ECU tuning.

Were you guys allowed to install standalones?

It's sad that they're pointing fingers at Tim about making excuses for the fires, and it's even sadder that we're agreeing with them. I sure as hell couldn't focus on building a car if I lived there during those wildfires; give the guy a break.

I hate to break it.... but Tim didn't do the tuning on the car, and the fires were all of 2 days before the track. So while I'm sure he was preoccupied at the track the car should have been 98% done at that point, if not entirely. What day was the GIAC dyno day? Anyone know?

While I only really paid attention to the Focus portions of all the prior shows, I did enjoy this last one in its entirety. From time-to-time I did check bits of the prior Skunk2 and Fireballed segments, but found them painful to watch. The last show was nice in its emphasis on the results. It was very interesting to see how the different crews had such different personalities. Really enjoyed getting a view (although very limited) into the FS operation. What was shown presented a very deliberate crew working in a very *focused* way toward a clear goal. How could they not win?

Hey, I've got parts from that shop! Now I can say that a media star welded my custom strut securement nut. w00t!

Oh yeah: Congratulations, mengs. Well deserved.

I'm so tempted to go stir up some isht at the local Mini board. Heh.

I will say the last 2 episodes were the best. Who knew if you deleted the car show segments, the quality of the show would improve.

Oh, wait, all of us knew.

I am trying to go easy on the Fireballed guys for some reason. They did better than S2 last year. At least they have a car that moves under its own power.

BUT...if they use the RCTime time on the mini, they would have been more productive...let alone welding in potato outfits and playing cars at the tank junkyard. They just screwed around so much, it is really hard to take them (Tim) seriously.

And sometimes both can be rectified with a coat hanger or a swift kick.

I had to get my one "out of line" thing to say before the month is over.

I have all of the lap times on our Timing & Scoring computer.

I'll send an email to Dan Woods (Ex. Producer) to see if he is okay with me disclosing. I'm sure it's fine, but I want to cover my ass, just in case. ;-)

Comment from the Mini board.

The guys at Focus Sport came out looking like complete professionals while the MINI crew looked like clowns at the circus. Running around in costumes and playing jokes was a horrible waste of time. They made a joke of the MINI and they deserved to lose.
