It's just really hard to compare a Focus with a AWD Turbo Evo, STi or S4. Those things can be monsters. Evo's took the top 3 positions in TTR at NASA Nationals.

It was also on factory ZX3 brakes(uprated pads) w/ stock rear drums.

Hmmm ... the drawing doesn't do it for me for some reason. Not sure why though. Not one of my favorites of Mr. TMoore's pieces.

And before anybody says anything, remember, I am one of the ones that actualy likes the '08's look so far.

so on the main page implies that it is a 08 coupe but the linked pic is a 05 sap (we would hope ST).

on one hand id love to see the 08 get some good attention (even though i think its uber ugly) but the ST would be an awsome base platform to build a monster since all the big numbers so far have been the 2.3.

The car that will be appearing in the series is a 2008 Coupe. The Silver SAP car is a current FocusSport project car. When the promo shots for the show were taken, the '08 wasn't even available yet. So, the Silver car was needed as a "stand in".

Here is a shot that was done just before the start of filming. Sorry, the pic quality is not as good as the others.

I would imagine that it is going to be a D23 swap. Given FS' track record

I lightened it up a little and cropped it, it lost some clearity, but you can see the car a little better.

Note about first show time. The FJ front page states:

"The first episode will air on Fri, Oct 19 at 5:00PM. "

Checked the speedtv.com site to set up the DVR and it appears the first episode initially airs Wednesday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. PT (10 p.m. ET) , followed by the next three episodes at the same time on the subsequent Wednesdays. Check here:

Link ==> SpeedTV.com schedule page (you'll need to set the timezone manually)

Link ==> General program schedule (Eastern Time)

Thanks for the heads up. They changed that since last night! I'll fix the front page.

I'm pretty sure he did one more for the Ford people...I forget. Maybe it was another FJ'ers I really liked.

I agree totally Ted, really it was the fastest focus. But it has a good shoe behind the wheel, which is lots. Crawford had something like 200k in one of the STIs that Craig Dabbs was driving about 2 years ago. Its rival was a EVO prepped by "Road Race Engineering" and really the STI had it covered in the straights. I can appreciate what a nice job Focus Sport does, but to say that it would beat a Z06 with a good driver is a touch one for me. Especially at Fontana or Willow Springs!

The way the cars will be compared is HP gained over stock, style after mod, 1/4 mi drag (mod vs stock), hot lap (time difference mod vs stock). If the Evo goes from 300 hp to 415, they gained 115 hp. If the focus goes from 140 to 300, they gained 160 & beat the EVO in the hp gained.

Sure the evo has more horses than the Focus, but this isnt a max hp comparison.
