Well I do have speed channel. I can't wait to see the show hopefully the 08 Foc would win. Of course we would have to wait until the end of the season to find that out. But it should be a good show. I just hope they get the 2008 Focus to perform like this !!!!!!!!!

fireballed Tim has a blog that covers all their build stuff for the most part. i've dealt with him in the past (big character, mucho energy) and he can hardly contain himselft it seems. and my gf feeds me bits and pieces i have to put together from time to time.

as far as 1st impressions....i gotta say the opening sequence was horrible. so damn cheesy...i really wanted to mute or change it for the opening. BUT after that was over, it was back to normal it seemed, so no worries. given what i know of Focussport and what i've seen from Fireballed....the evo does not stand out in the is competion...the way it's "graded" at least.

i can convert the episodes (i dvr with mediacenter), but i just don't know where to put them, and what quality i should convert to?

"Fireball" Tim: "The airbags were making everyone nervous...you pull out one screw and the whole thing's gonna explode. And to tell you the truth I have no idea. I've never pulled airbags out..."

Really? I thought these people work on/know about cars. No one there has ever pulled out an airbag?

Some how I can't imagine Vik or Randy saying these things.

Well, my friend I completely agree with you about the beginning. It was so corny I was laughing. But, what was the producers thinking when they planned this episode. Evo RS versus an Mini and a Focus !?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Forgive me for be a skeptic but I don't see how in the world the Focus has a chance. Forgive my turner ignorance, it's been a while since I've been up with tuning cars and I'm sure some of you are going to love to correct me but. The Focus is going to be slaughtered.

Horsepower

1st= Evo Comes 286 hp with factory turbo(stock) they are aiming for 600hp + AWD_ MAN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2nd= Focus 140 HP a standard 2.0 liter 4-banger. No Turbo No Supercharger or anything(stock) They are aiming for 300 hp to the wheels with turbo, not hardly enough
3rd= Mini 107 HP with factory turbo(stock) there aim........ just go !!!!!

Handling
1st=Mini it's an over-sized go kart and it weighs 10 lbs
2nd=Evo it's AWD and has a major horsepower advantage
3rd= Focus heavier than Mini maybe heavier than Evo

This is looking like a slaughter of epic proportions against the Focus. Those guys for Focus team better tune the living hell out of that car in order for it to have a chance.

The way I see this challenge is
1st = Mini
2nd = Evo
3rd = Focus

this is going to leave a mark

The contest isnt based necessarily on raw results head to head against each other, its
scored on how much of an imporvement in performance and styling the tuners can achieve
over stock. By the way, the evo weighs about 3100-3200 pounds, the mini cooper weighs
about 2660 pounds, and guess what...the new Focus coupe weighs just 2588 pounds...

again, it has to know with knowing what this show is all about. it's about performance over stock, in things like time difference on track, % increase in power, and then looks i think are the 3?

so even if Dr. Charles hits 600 hp (and doesn't blow another motor) that's about 115% increase in power. so all the Focussport guys wouldn't even need to 300 (way easy for them) to pass that mark. and keep in mind, Fireballed! has hit 600hp out of a mini's 1.6 ....so no one is out of the game here.

i just REALLY hope they don't continue the cheezy through the series

....and i just finished uploading the torrent of tonights episode, didnt' trim any fat though, it's commercials and all. thepiratebay.org/tor/3846900/STC.S3.E1

Watched the show last night...the "spokes models" need to go. I found them both to be irritating. Other than that it should be a good show. I normally do not go out of my way to watch "Challenge", but this should be interesting!

The spokes models wouldn't be so bad if they had better acting talent. They did not seem enthused at all. The team intro was pretty bad. Especially when they show the team that won the last event. Oh well.

So I forgot to DVR it, but when I got home, I think I found the re-run on at like 2:30, so I DVRd that. But when I breifly watched it this morning, it was an 05-07 Focus Model, not an 08. Am I mistaken?

This was pretty disappointing, and I really hope that it ramps up to actually show the 3 cars they're building.

So overall, in a 30 minute show, it was what? 5 minutes of the actual cars, 15 minutes of commercials, and 10 minutes of a VW show.

I just want to see the masters of their craft building some crazy machines.

Ditch the car shows and the ditch pigs at the beginning.

I still vote for the focussport crew to go on junkyard wars

Just to see vik build up some rocket powered, car crushing, submersible, shopping cart framed wrecking machine would be worth it

Just so everyone stops mentioning/asking...

The initial filming for the show's first segment started before Job 1 for the '08 Focus. FS had no choice but to bring their ST as a stand-in as the car that they are using for the build still needed to be built and ship across the country.

yeah that show was a big letdown. I forgot how much that show sucks, so many commercials, so little time actually looking at the cars, cutting away to car shows that dont matter. they need a new producer. Why not just focus on the cars? thats the whole reason people are watching the show....

Honestly, with the FocusSport crew on TV, I'm in full support. Ditch the negativity and move on, it is what it is! Is it the perfect show? Well, no... but I'll enjoy what I can of the good parts.

Really
If that's true and I'll take your word on it. That changes everything. I can't believe a Mini weighs more than a Focus. Evo being 3100-3200 Lbs I'm not really that surprised because it's AWD. I retract my previous statement. And you all are correct about the rules. Well this is going to be a very interesting Super Tuner Challenge. It should be fun to watch to see who is going to win.

though it does kinda suck since we know one of the companies involved, but keep in mind "cutting away to those car shows that don't matter" get some good exposure for some local groups. considering i know a few people that run the honda challange, it was cool to see it mentioned on real tv (i actually had my car on for a brief moment in season 1 when they were at a focus challenge event). again, though it might not be great info for some, some people are stocked on those "things that don't matter"

i agree that it was way too much NON main car stuff (and commercials) on this episode, but we'll see how it ends up.

The cut to the lil car show and such like that wouldn't bother me if it was an hour long show and had at least half of the show being about the actual reason for the show being on in the first place. But with only thirty minutes worth of show, and having to cut to commercials like Speed does, I'd rather see more than 8 minutes of actual footage that I tuned in for.
