    Default Shell V-Power = no ethanol?

    I had heard mention somewhere that Shell V-Power fuel doesn't get ethanol added to it in the winter. I decided to fill up with it instead of my usual BP Ultimate, and I don't know if I'm being optimistic or there really is a difference, but it really does feel like my car woke up a bit.

    My car runs noticeably better and gets better mileage on V-power too. I kept track of it over time,and I consistently got 1-2 mpg better on V-power than other premium fuel.

    Can anyone confirm this?

    I will be finding the nearest Shell station every fill up if so.

    I have gotten 1-2 mpg better on Shell regular unleaded too. Not just once but every time I use Shell gas I get better mileage. Sad thing considering I work for Mobil.

    I generally only fill up with Shell gas when driving my focus. If not available, I will fill up with BP, however, Shell seems to be superior.

    I tried the stuff for the first time on my last fillup on the WRX, since it requires premium anyway. I'll be sure to update with my results, however I think its worth mentioning that in a lot of locations Shell will cost you a little more then the equivalent BP etc.

    I went from 33-35 mpg on regular to 22-26 on V-power. But that might be because of my Power Works Super Charger. ( And a heavy right foot)

    Chances are if their standard fuel has ethanol, it all does. Also remember... not all states require that ethanol mixing me advertised.

    Since we're on the subjet... a lot of places too give you "bonus" octane when they use ethanol. The "Nameless" fuel company that I work for at one time was mixing ethanol with regular octane fuels. What does this mean??? A 1.5 octane boost.

    87 = 88.5
    89 = 90.5
    93 = 94.5

    No no Chris, this is for us 'cold' states where they switch the fuel in the winter, thins it up and makes it burn faster, this worse mileage and an active knock sensor for some cars.

    I have not noticed any difference in Fuel consumption with the V-power, but it sure does smell nice My Focus does seem to run better with the V-power in the summer, but the winter it is hard to tell.
