The parts guy is dumbfounded and says “there is no 1994 Chrysler minivan.” He then asks “do you meen a caravan?”

(yes I know Chrysler calls it a Caravan, I still thought it was funny!)

Ok I laughed my ass off today at work. My coworker has a 1994 Chrysler minivan as his beater and called up the parts place to try and get a belt for it and called it a minivan…

I don't really get the purpose of taking a successful show and premise, and americanizing it...
If Americans don't like Top Gear, why keep the name and change everything else? It's like some sort of patriotic duty to gut the soul out of good programming just to get back at the queen. And it's the colony north of you that suffers for it! you'd think 196 years after the 'incident', we'd finally be forgiven... but noooooooo ![]()

The Office, American Idol and a couple other shows were sucessfully Americanized over the years so just give this one a chance, at worst it is horrible and we never watch it again.

That's for real the lineup? You mean Kid Rock's still trying to milk some remaining seconds from his atrocious 15 minutes of fame?

TG america will be anything but british as i see it and i say AMEN! TG and clarkson lost their edge. jumped the sharknes. all they are now is irritating and metric with a funny accent. and worthless. they had such good shows and i (even ME) could overlook the britishness of it. not anymore. and thats a good thing. we need our own version. screw the stuff thats imported. |

OK, so I'm gonna play psychologist here. Were you raped by a British guy or something? Let's talk about your childhood and get to the root of this repression, orionlion82

The rumor mill is abuzz with the possibility that either Leno or Seinfeld may host the U.S. version.

Leno: Funny car guy Seinfeld: Car guy with a bit more culture Stone cold steve austin: Crazy car guy thats one heck of a driver and has one of the best collections in the country Although no matter who it is I'll watch! http://www.autoblog.com/2008/01/31/r...-i-top-gear-i/

I think we've come up with a pretty good cast here.
Despain, Seinfeld, Leno, it would be great. I think throw in a chick would bring a little something extra to the show. Not some bimbo... somebody intelligent, self-confident, etc.... but knows cars, feed **** back to the boys. I dunno who... what's her name, the brunette that was on Overhaulin. Or the blonde from 4wheeler TV or whatever that show it. Something like that.

I want to see leno and seinfeld both do it. heck, bring in Tim Allen and let the 3 of them have at it. there all car guys and there all stand up comedians, this would be entertaining.

What about Christopher Titus? I'd rather see him in with leno and seinfeld than tim allen.

you know, you guys could look at the upside. we may actually get a primetime TV show about cars on one of the major netwroks. correct me if i'm wrong, but this is huge. even if it's moderately successful, it could very well lead to bigger and better things

I just had a frightening thought. What if Joe Rogan ends up as the host... He was on NBC for Fear Factor, and he's a big car guy. But he's such a terrible host. I've already lost numerous kernels of popcorn from throwing them at the TV while he hosts UFC fights. I don't think I could stomach him on an Americanized Top Gear. I hope he doesn't end up with the gig.

I'm watching the episode right now where they had to buy a car for under $1000 and drive from Florida to New Orleans. They just got through Alabama and almost got jumped by a bunch of hicks. ahaha, that was great.

that scene pleases me to no end. ![]() and then they go on to trash america and misrepresent the cars they sell to the people of new orleans. i only regret i wasnt there to throw any rocks. they deserved to be run off. i would intentionally miss clarkson though, as much as i hate him, he is (was?) a focus guy. |

Yep, figures orion would be the first to chime in that he wishes he could've been one of the inbred apes that were so quick to threaten physical violence because something dared to go against their "Deliverence"-esque community
