Joe Rogan smokes more pot than Cheech and Chong combined. No way will he do it. He couldn't stay sober long enough to get on the track.

Adam Carolla, Tim Allen, and Mike Rowe.
Big names and would quate to an AWESOME show. Carolla and Allen, both have racing experience. Carolla and Rowe, both are VERY smart and quick whitted. Carolla, Allen, and Rowe all have weekly TV experience. All are well known names too. All know enough about cars to make for a very entertaining 'americanized' version.

We just need people who will be irreverent.....the irreverent humor is what made Top Gear UK great. I think those three would fit the bill.

To those who keep saying they want Tim Allen, why? He really isn't that funny, but I'd rather have him than Sienfield.

Do we really want to know? The whole mystique of the Stig is that we don't know who he is, and to know would ruin it.

That sounds awesome, but all three of these guys proudly carry man-cards. One of the things I love about Top Gear is that there are two car guys and a European Butler. I think two of the above three and then someone who is funny and likes cars, but doesn't really race cars, would be a perfect. ![]()

I already get to watch all the top gear episodes. Direct tv has a channel called BBCA and they broadcast all the episodes. It's great really.

All the episodes BBC America airs are over a year old and not from the most current season.

Top Gear U.S.A is now filming episodes in So Cal. Carolla says he's shooting on military base (El Toro?) this week.

Yup. Adam used to do voices on the Kevin and Bean show way back in the day... as "Mister Birchum the shop teacher." That was among my first experiences in radio, when as a wide-eyed teenager, I had the balls to call up KROQ and say "hey I wanna learn more about radio." The whole station took me in and I was sorta an intern for 3 years. I'd come help out, answer the phones, make copies, that sorta stuff. Adam was always in there working on bits for the next week, that kinda thing. Adam and Jimmy Kimmel both started at KROQ about the same time... and later went on to do the Man Show before Jimmy got his show and Adam kept up with Loveline until he got his morning gig replacing Stern. A couple years ago, right before Adam left Loveline, I was acutally working on the show part time. (If you listen the character of "Anderson" yah that was me some nights.) Adam and I went out one night after the show for late dinner and he was talking about leaving Loveline and how it might be a bad career move. Guess not, hey Adam? But I will give you this. He is definately a car nut. Has his own shop and everything. Not quite to the scale of Jay Leno's garage (which is installing its own dynojet I just found out) but its still pretty cool.
