At times they can be, it also pisses me off when they don't bother to check their facts.
My favorite example is when they test the GT-500 and put it on a dyno and complain about the loss or horsepower when what they are reading is the Wheel horse power number.

I don't think it's overrated. I think it's funny as hell. However, I do believe that a good 50% of what comes out of their mouths is blatant stupidity, especially Jeremy Clarkson. Don't get me wrong--I find Jeremy outrageously funny at times (I love British humor), but when it comes down to the serious business of rating cars, they're usually pretty far off base what pretty much every US enthusiast magazine has to say on the subject, and far too often the British car gets the nod just because it's British and has "charm" or some such silliness.

i think some people are just a litle 'too much' of a fan of it is all. for some, it gets to the point where anything the guys on the show say or do is gospel, and that's where it definetely warrants being called 'overrated'.

it's one of the few shows i DVR, and the wife and i love to watch it together (she could care less about the cars. she just thinks it's funny).

For everyone doubting Adam Carolla, listen to this podcast from his show. Starting at about 7:15, a caller asks Adam what he thinks about 'American Muscle'. I sure his response will make MOST of everyone on here happy. I know I enjoyed it. Although not his best response, it's all off cuff and on the spot.

hmmm, kimmel promoted 2g's, how bad can corolla (awfull name though) be?

along with tim allen and mike rowe -

(i hate mike rowe because the womenz are his fault. damn at me the man who works with my hands.)

at least tim allen needs some cash and you cant argue with him.

but mike rowe and the women he has caused me.
i may never forgive him.
ughh.
a man cant work with his own hands in peace thanks to that guy.
its allways a female apocalypse.

I'm glad I posted that gem then! Like I said, not his best work at being funny or whitty but damn, that's pretty good for on the spot work. Plus I think MOST of us on the jet would agree with his point of view.

Well, the reason they did it this way is because they want to belittle american cars - mostly because they don't particularly care for americans, especially clarkson. I watch top gear pretty regularly via youtube so i'm a big fan and all, but clarkson doesn't car much for us "septics". I think JC is mostly pretty damn funny, but you have to admit he's also an ultra snob elitist.

Well of course, that is one of the main reasons I like Clarkson.

Regarding the American show, I have never really enjoyed Adam Corolla so I'm still not holding out much hope for Gear if he is one of the hosts.
