i like the idea. its needed an american verson for a good bit of time yet.

I suppose I'll give it a try but to me Top Gear's appeal comes from the personality's and chemistry between Clarkson, Hammond, and May. I fear this version will be dumbed down and more P.C., without all of the intangible things that makes TG a great show, but it will have duplicates of TG segments to try and inherent some of the BBC versions viewer ratings. I hate to be a pessimist but I'd be surprised if this is anything different than another witless and dull American car show.

However you should enjoy it Orion.

Ahhhhhhhh, they are not replacing Top Gear are they? An American version will fail verses a European version, like everything!

I will venture another guess at failure. I doubt the chemistry and hilarity can be re created. Especially on american TV. People will be pissed if they do something like call one of the hosts a homosexual and beige as insults.

Wow, so this "Top Gear" but without the hilarity of Clarkson, Hammond, and May and will probably feature American cars (read: SUVs, pickup trucks, and other various pieces of rubbish) being driven and talked about by probably an epic cast of reality star rejects with typically bland American humor? Man, double that up with the fact that it'll be chock-full of the ****ty gimmick commercials that play repeatedly all night long on NBC and we surely have a winner

it might just be a good show. i recon if most of you guys hate it i should at least give it a shot and see if its what i thought it would be

Nooooooooo, Our politically correct system won't work with a show as irreverent as the U.K. version has been.

Can you imagine a U.S. show renting a car and then using it to see what happens when a car gets struck by lightning?

Besides the fact that they'd never find anywhere to test the cars without getting sued for endangering something like a spotted lumpy horned gound owl or something.

God forbid they should exceed the posted limit on a public road on the air.

Ohh,Ohhh, Maybe they could get Jason Priestly to host it!!! Everyone who saw him walking the starting grid at the USGP knows what a genius he is.

This show is nothing without James, Hammond, and Clarkson.

I am not big on watching shows on the computer so I just watch the year old episodes on BBC America. At least they don't put subtitles on whenever they talk about currency other than US currency like Discovery did

okay, it most definitely won't be as good, and might in fact be bad, but it might be decent. I'll still watch every single british TG, but I'll give this new show a shot. It might even turn out to be a good show!

It has potential.... but I think at a minimum they need to bring Clarkson over for the shows.... just to get his feel on the show. Hamster is good, and May, I could honestly do without.... Whats most fun about him is the other guys poking at him.
