a metro is way lamer than a Aveo, so it has that extra sleeper factor,
and the metro will prolly be 150lbs ligther, and way easier to find cheap ![]()

Yeah, the Metro is a Suzuki, and the Aveo is a Daewoo.

Well, neither are very exciting, that's for sure.
...but I have a soft spot for crappy subcompacts. The Geo's mutant stepcousin is the Swift GTI... which I've always loved... and the Cultus/Sprint gave way to the Sprint Turbo, which wasn't specatular, but was highly entertaining to drive in a musclebuilding midget sort of way.

This metro speak reminds me of a video. Have you all seen the metro with the crochrocket 600 cc streetbike motor swap? The thing is still pig slow, but it sounded awesome
lack of torque FTL.

I'm with you, Omni.
Keep in mind, the 95-00 Metros/Swifts had fully independant suspension. ![]() I want to see a Metro build! How about a Metro with the Aerio 2.4 liter with 155 hp. ![]() |

I dunno what the appeal of the Aveo is. Ick! I prefer hatches, but the Cobalt is so much sechsier.

What is the fun in holding the gas to the floor and having a computer do all the work?
If you can't drive your car correctly that has '280btq' as mentioned, you probably shouldn't have it in the first place.

Well, I'm late to the party, but here we go anyway: The MS3 ECU limits power in 1st and 2nd gears to minimize torque-steer. I bet that someone who was ONLY interested in 1/4 mile times could get a computer tune or a piggyback ecu lose that feature, and be dead even if not a bit faster than the Cobalt.
For my money, a MS3 with a front mount intercooler, CF hood and light weight wheels would be a package that would be tough to beat for the price. As for handling, I bet the fully independent suspension in the MS3 would respond a hell of a lot better to coil-overs than a torsion beam suspension. A lot has also been said in this thread about refinement VS all out performance, which I largely agree with. I think the MS3 is a more refined and mature package that will appeal to a wider audience than the cobalt. Now, where is Ford?

"So it wrote the engine-control software with a nuance that links the engine's output with steering-wheel angle. Boot it with the front wheels centered, and you get the whole can of Spam. If the helm is turned a few degrees left or right, the computer backs off the throttle a couple of percentage points to relax the sideways tug on the nose."- Car and Driver So in a drag race this shot not matter at all (if it does you have other issues).

steering angle is indeed part of it, but even in s straight line boost is limited in 1&2
