I don't want to fuel the EURO RULES thread this will inevitably become... but reading a couple comments raises the question: would the Euro Focus NOT sell like hotcakes?
All of the statements alluding to the thoughts that we're just raving enthusiasts demanding the world of Ford are bull. There is no question that the Euro Focus would outsell this Focus by insane amounts. Sell the Euro Focus here for the same price as this one (and why couldn't they?), and I would be STUNNED to find an '09 C170 on the road.
Now, one thing to keep in mind: do the Europeans get Sync?

and btw... that white one looks amazing.

Can't go wrong with Ford Racing White and some carbon fiber.

They do sell here... as a Volvo C30.

Besides price, you're not going to outsell a Ford with a Volvo any time soon. They just don't have enough market visibility yet. A better car to point out would have been the Mazda3 which DOES sell like hotcakes. I can't go anywhere anymore without seeing 5-10 Mazda3s. And a Mazda3 will most definitely sell for more than a Ford will.. Ford will have to be rebating their cars for quite a long time.

Personally i think its a much better improvement over the 08. Sure its not what "we" want, but then again by most acounts neither was my 07.
The change to the front facia has a major efect on the car, but i still find something lacking in the rear of the car. I feel the smaller taillights are a fatal flaw of the newer rears
im not sold on the grill and headlights either, but the lack of chrome does wonders for it
The bottom line is i like it better than the 08, but no where near enough to make me want to run out and buy one, however realistically i think its going to help keep focus sales strong to the general public, wich is really what maters, as were the minority.

Personally i love that mondeo render

I do however really like that little window spoiler thing, and im wondering the posibilities of fiting it to a ZX4

You know, that does look good, but I actually prefer your silver one more.

I think the lighter color works with the car's lines better.

Just personal prefrence, but 9.5 is up there , OK, I'll give it a 9.99 I'm going on looks and performance, I'm just slightly more partial to the SVT look, although I'd like to have both in my collection.

To answer Checkmyvitals comment about would the Euro car sell well here, I think it would, just because this current car is selling well, doesn't mean the Euro car wouldn't. Now think about this for a second... Ford says no more SVT because it didn't sell well, Ford thinks it didn't sell well because it was a high performance hatchback. Reality is, it was a low performance hatch with good handling. Honda used the same logic, the Si hatchback didn't sell well, America must not like hatchbacks, next Si will be a coupe. Reality, if it would of had any amount of performance, it would have sold much better. It was way underpowered, but here we sit, no more SVT, no Civic Type R hatchback, yet GTI and Mazdaspeed3 and now the STi and WRX and soon to be Mitsu hatchback are all true Hot Hatches, not luke warm hatches. Am I the only one who notices this?

I've always wondered about this, and I think the new STi will settle my curiosity. If the hatch STi outsells (or at least remains even to) the old STi sedan, then NA is ready for hatches. If it doesn't it does prove my notion that the Mazda3 and Focus hatches sold well because the performance or sport versions were left to the hatches. Now, I left the GTI out for a reason. I'm not going to take a hit at VW fans (I'm a huge VAG fan myself), but I consider them to be an entirely different breed. Not something I would base any car market appeal on.

Now, the point I was getting to about the Euro car was more something I was pointing out, to counter a point people were trying to make in this thread: that the MK1.75 (yes, I'm going to continue using it) is selling. Of course it's selling. To some it's a cheap car. To others it's a proven chassis. Either way, it gets the job done no matter who you are... unless you're a hatch fan and have become accustomed to the incredible luxury of having a hatch. But the point I was trying to make is that the Euro hatch will sell MORE. Guaranteed.
This:

will not offend, nor deter anyone who is currently buying an '08
and this:

will draw in an entirely new audience, on top of obviously bringing a ton of enthusiasts back.

It'll be tough to argue that a Euro '08 Focus may be a LITTLE more expensive, but we all know it'll be a rebated Mazda3... which will outsell the current Focus.

The only thing I'm trying to point out, is the defense of "it's selling!" when talking about the MK1.75 is garbage, for we all know the Euro would sell MUCH more. However, the defense of "we have something new and different" is completely valid. I love having a coupe. I like the new restyle. I prefer the hatch... but... c'mon:

Epic win.

After sleeping on it and seeing some of the chops that folks have done, I must say that I really like the car. Hopefully it is available in white, because that color seems to fit it really well.

Now I just have to come up with a mild suspension setup that is a little more friendly towards year around driving than the setup I have on the hatch. Ford should offer a Performance Suspension Package that includes the SVT suspension (or at least the analogue, since they're not directly swappable) and bigger rear swaybar. Everyone needs PSP.
