Definately heading in the right direction. Those gaudy 08s with no performance package were disapointing.

i think it's funny that they're using the same rims that were on the SVT EAP 4 years ago. It's a big improvement, the rear end looks awkward to me and i wish they did something with the headlights and upper grill, but it is a big improvement.

It looks better with the darker chrome grille and no-fender vents, but I never thought that it was the lower part of the front that needed work. The rear spoiler is interesting, but I'd have to see it in person. The wheels will be good for people who didn't want to change them on their own.
All in all I think they could have done more.

Well, if you'd read the story on the front page you'd see that it went up to 143, Paul.

Horrible, they made it even worse, looks like an old Prius with multi-spoke wheels.
They need to just let FOE handle this stuff from now on. Who is designing this stuff at ford these days? |

hoenstly, still doesn't do it for me. Yes it's better but way off of where it should be. I love how they keep saying "improved sales". Once again, it was a new model so of course it will see improved sales. I was going to drive out to focus sport to see this, not going to happen now. I can't justify the gas/time spent to see an appearence package (yes horsepower gain, but not much).

The rear looks like its been converted to a hatch. Is it? At least they took some input, anyone else think the 17s look tiny on it?

It's safe to say that my eyeball conversion is final.
I like it. I hope they offer a little more power options from the factory. If not I trust that Focus Sport and the other sponsors will have somthing special for it. |

the new rims and (thank whatever automotive deity you pray to) the delete option on the faux chrome side vents . couldn't have said it better myself. now I wait till the all new focus comes out, which should be just in time for when I finish school. hopefully there will be something worthy of replacing my svt with.![]()

I think it was the right move given what we know they're working with right now.
I like the changes, personally. Jalopnik doesn't usually ask stupid questions, but in response to "was it necessary?"... The answer is yes.

the add ons look better, the base is still not a Focus. I really didn't expect them to pull a "58 impala" though

I think they made very positive changes, and they obviously ARE paying attention to what is being said.
That leads me to believe that when we get the next gen it's gonna be just what we all want. Nice job Ford.
