Default Danica Hits Crew Member At Indy Practice..

The story and a gruesome picture..

http://sports.yahoo.com/irl/news?slu...v=st&type=lgns

Well any publicity to Indycar these days is suppose to be good according to SPEED reporter Robin Miller but I don't think he had this in mind. May the Lord be with Buckman and I hope he'll get better soon.

Yeah just saw that vid on ESPN, and wow, it looks like he not only was undercut by the front but also smashed his face on the rear spoiler. Luckily he was not injured too bad. I guess you gotta keep your head on a swivel, even in practice and qualifying.

Very True. I hit a Race Official at the 2006 National Championship. He never look down the pit lane when he ran in front of me.

He we okay, but I ran over his radio.

One or two times, at the autocross track, a car would go out of control STRAIGHT for me. I've even had to pull a guy or two out of the way because he wasn't paying attention and had his Ipod on... (: )

Funny though, he paid VERY close attention after I pulled him out of the way...

This one kind of hits home for me as I'm out in pit lane over a dozen times/weekend when I'm at the track. It's a dangerous place and impossible to see everything that's going on around me, especially when I'm working on the car.

There was a comment in the article that the pit speed should have been slower...that had nothing to do with the pit speed as she wouldn't have been going any slower turning into the pits. She was already hard on the brakes, he was just careless. It's too bad how the media is turning this.
