I understand the comments about the car's styling so far, but I have to think that at this price point, utility, mileage, and initial purchase price are going to be the most important factors buyers consider when shopping around.
In other words, I don't think potential buyers will be turned off because it (ever so slightly) resembles an Xb. They will, though, be willing to consider making the purchase if the car delivers overall economy in the high 20s or low 30s, room for five, enough utility to make small trips to the home improvement store, a long list of standard features, and a low starting price (probably something along the lines of $13,000 to $15,000 if they want to be competitive with some of the other players in this market - namely, Honda, Toyota, and Suzuki) Having said all of that, I know that a car's cosmetics are an inextricable part of the equation when considering a purchase. However, I think buyers of these types of cars are willing to forego a certain amount of "style" in order to get the things mentioned earlier in the post.

Nope. I purposely did not read the thread because I wanted to make the comment with the intention that I was being fresh and new. In that aspect, I still win. ![]()

Colors galore at Kia World:
http://www.kia-world.net/index.php/2...r-new-kia-cuv/ Man, I am diggin' this vehicle! And, they say new colors will be added every 6-12 months. You will notice that they've changed the grille from the pic above, much nicer.

Oh no -- not more fake fender vents ... why the hell do automakers keep putting these damn things on cars?
Don't get me wrong, I like the car as a whole, I just HATE fender vents. In fact, I REALLY like the car's back end. |

You know... a lot of people probably think this is silly, but I think it is a great idea. A car's color is really important to me, and the impact of a fresh palette is something I've always found valuable. The Focus had a good start in the early years, but the color choices tanked in 2003 with a nice spread of bland. Long live pigment! ![]()
