I'll trade you for my F-150 seats, I'm SWIMMING in those things! Guess I have a Euro body.

Ditto?

Optional, Yes.
PUHLEEEEEEEEEZ Not "Standard".
Maybe a Special Package with Wider Front Seats, Increased Spring Rates (And Matched Dampers), Smaller Steering Wheel, Increased Front Seat Tracks, Longer Seat Belts, and a Lower Gear Ratio in the First 4 gears....?

Keep it lightweight, simplistic, stylish, and with good fuel economy. Don't need 10,000 bells and whistles with the corresponding price and weight increase, with just more things to break. If you wanna get fancy, make the passenger seat fold flat to the same level as the rear seats that also need to fold completely flat, no 20o angle sticking up BS. I agree on 4x100 wheels, and while we are at standards, could we make the stereo a double-din please, so I don't need an ugly adapter plate? If an MTX turbo-diesel weren't too pricey, that'd be my pick.

I'd go nuts with what I want, but honestly, this is what I NEED.

2 door hatch (get back into the hot hatch market, or honestly, start a trend)

about the same dimensions as the old focus, but a longer front end, needed to hold the uprooted engine, and have at least 3 engine choices (varying in power, who cares if an svt badge graces it, as long as one is powerful, and has a electronically controlled diff as optional equipment)

get off their ugly wheel trend, make something eye pleasing, VW and BMW and Merc are WAYYYYYYYYYYY ahead in their wheel designs

FWD, electronic diff optional

the space was enough in the 00-04 focus

the interior was awesome, the blockyness and squares made my heart cringe

but we'll see.

I'd reword it, but I agree.
When the first gen interior went away, with the Pitiful excuse that it was "Too Trendy" , I was Overly reminded if the Granada or Futura with the bland redesign.

Mike, this was standared on ALL Focus 3 and 5 door cars in Europe. Why Ford NA did that crappy design on the US model I have no idea.

2010 Focus, I want to see this, C2, period. Global platform remember? So bring it all, to include engine options.

Oh and what I want to see in the US? RDS form the radio stations, get with the program America.

Needs to be C2. Diesel engine option. Bring it over as is. I think people would be willing to pay a little more for a premium small car. Dont give us a hubcap equipped focus.

Standards I'd like to see:
-4 wheel disc brakes nothing huge.
-Projector style headlights with HID option (or even standard would be cool)
-No cheap chrome. A few bits of chrome trim would be okay, but no more fender vents or front grilles. Polished aluminum or solid black plastic (not textured) is much better.
-Offer the utility of a hatch and/or wagon again.
-5 or 6 speed manual with overdrive for good mileage.
-Interior closer to the original Focus: Edgy styling, supportive seats and quality materials. Instead of using patterned fabric, either do solid colors with contrasting stitching (match the color of the stitching to the exterior color) or two tone.
-Rear Swaybar
-35-40 MPG: 40 MPG isn't unrealistic at all, as I'm getting 35 with a well modified Zetec. With an overdrive 6th for the highway, 40+ should be realized easily.

Options I'd like to see:
-Individual options, instead of Packages that include things you'd rather not have just to get something that you do want.
- Performance Suspension Package: Larger rear swaybar, slightly lower suspension (ala SVT) with better dampers
-Limited Slip Differential
-Sporty Interior seats: Sparco, Recaro
-Navigation
-HIDs (like I mentioned above)

The first gen Focus epitomizes nearly the perfect car for me. Its inexpensive, great on gas yet sporty enough to enjoy driving it every day. The interior I thought was above average for its class (although from what I've seen of the newer ones, its gone down a bit). I know that Ford can't and won't go back to the first gen, but at least return to some of the design elements so that some form of evolution can be seen from the original. The name should stand on more than just the chassis, it should stand on the image of its predecessors. The 08+ Focus seems to deviate from that perspective a little.

What I'd really add.

- Limited Slip Differential.

-Rear Sway Bar - If not i'll just make my own... again.

- 150-160whp 2.0L. While not super powerful, it will bring the fun back into the car. Either that or put the 4.06 gear with a GIANT 4-5th gear.

-I would also say make the old suspension parts work with the updated geometry. Why reinvent the suspension parts (which is costly) to change the geometry only minimally. I'm a engineer also, its not a real big deal....

I like the "fat people friendly", but I haven't come to terms with my body, to buy that as a package...

I would like a little bit better interior fabric, and better seat bolstering. And continue to work on the noise reduction. I like the price, I understand what I get (or sacrafice), and don't want to see the price climb too high.

don't most ford radios support this now anyway, plus they were moving to offer H.D. radios stock too? its just allot of US radio stations dont take advantage of them. Most radio stations here brodcast the station name, current song, artiest, and that little TP simble pops up if the station supports traffic stuff. They also offer H.D. Streams too.

The Verve was just a concept. The car that will come from the concept is the Fiesta. For some reason I cant see Ford making a niche version of the Fiesta in the States. Especially a niche car that is aimed squarely at the Mini. We will be lucky if we actually get the 5 door hatch Fiesta, let alone 3 door.

Rp, you are usually vocal about what you want to see in the Focus, what would you want to see, and at what trim levels?

On the other hand you could probably swap out to the Mazda3 5x100 hubs.

4x100 is for ricers

The Mazda 3 doesn't have a 5x100 bolt pattern. They are 5x114.3.

Default Re: 2010 Production Focus, what do you want to see?

There MUST be a hatch

After that, I'd like to see something close to the Euro Styled ST

Additional things I'd like to see are:

1. Turbocharged from the factory
2. True Spring over shock at all 4 corners.
3. Camber/Caster adjustment at control arms
4. Suspension Geometry that allows tirewidths up to 245 or more utilizing a 4x100 bolt pattern
5. Less than 3K lbs in the base version
6. Preferably NOT drive by wire (unless it can be spot on without any lag at a good price point)
7. Seats with decent side bolsters
8. DIN Stereo surround (no more of the one piece non-modifiable) stuff. (wont happen but a guy can dream)

As for Options.. well this is where I show my softer side:
I'd like the following for options:
1. Sun / Moon roof.
2. MP3 (ipod) hookups
3. Nav System
4. Uprated Engine from the base
5. Bi-Xeon Headlamps
6. Fog Lamps
7. Any other possible performance upgrade options

while everyone is dreaming i should dream too.

1) double wishbone suspension in front. what ever we have right now in the back.
2) factory option of 8" wide tire from factory.
3) Light
