Totally, it's like the Focus never existed.

This version of the focus does not look like a focus at all, and I've noticed that the whole time I've been chopping. I've simply been trying to make a "better" version of what we've been given within reason. However this car just will never look like a focus without a hatch version and aggressive fender arches like the original. I think this is as close to a focus as I've gotten with the current platform and photo available:

I've got a few more I'll have soon.

Should have just e-mailed that over to Ford NA.

Hell I would really considering buying one if the Focus looked like that.

Someone oughta make a photoshop of this:

With some different wheels. It'll look hot with the right wheels.

Now that front end + photoshopped hatch = hmm wait....MKII Focus all over again. That front end is the hotness though. With the right money and right hands, one can make a front end like that work on a '09. Oh what the hell, that photochop coupe already looks hot.

This looks awful. As much as I see where you're going with it... it just doesn't work. I'll agree, the 'porkchop' headlights leave a lot to be desired... but they bring an aggressiveness to the front end that I like. IMO, it's Ford's way of harking back to the original triangular headlights and I really like the tie in. To me, headlights reaching up the fender was a Focus trait. This trait was lost in the '05 refresh of both the Euro and NA Focus, and even moreso on the '09 EU facelift. I like that Ford is keeping this style kickin around.

With those horizontal headlights... you might as well just throw a Hyundai badge on it.

The dream car almost looks right. Just needs to tie into the side of the car better.
But really, Ford isnt going to put allot more $$ into the US spec Focus beyond 09. Some things may change (like the overhead clearence in the back seats, or hopefully rear head rests and grab handles), but dont expect anything major on the outside of the car until the next Focus.

Hopefully there will be a real sporty version of it (a Gt coupe or somthing)but that is wishful thinking on my part. Wishful thinking, and I alredy committed to a 08' SES.

Maybe a aftermarket company will make better looking parts for the 08? I for one dont want to be limited to one or maybe two choices for body kits.

(I know it sounds like I am asking for Rice.)

Chop request...
Can someone put some race wings on it? I wonder what it would look like on track duty?

I just wanted to illustrate that to me the new focus pshopped or not has become as bland as most other compacts out there.

Funny....I don't find the SX4 bland at all. In fact, I think it's one of the better looking compact sedans out there.

how aggressive do you want a compact sedan to look? especially one that starts at 14k.

I think the SX4 sedan is actually really cool. I don't like the hatch but the sedan is nice. I've been trying to convince the fiancee to go for one but for some reason she'd prefer a Focus hatch (if Ford still made them). I knew I proposed for a reason!

That is the essential problem that mainly American car companies have. Just because a car is inexpensive it doesn't mean it has to look terrible or bland. Good Design doesn't cost any more than bad design.
