Default New-school 'gasser'...

I've been browsing some magazines lately and really been eyeing the older 'gassers' when I decided I should do a rendering of what I'd call the 'new-school' gasser.

So, with that said, here's the first one...

I think something like this would be straight up bad-ass!!! So, who wants to build it?

Thoughts, comments? Or have I just lost my mind??

Gasser is a slang term from the late 50s/early 60s describing a drag car. Gassers uaully had an extremely high front end for weight transfer.

Typically the front suspension was an old parallel leaf spring and straight axle from a pickup providing that extremely high stance.

Interiors were usually gutted and while these cars weren't the 'fastest' on the track, they were one of the most unique in appearance...to me this look just shouts 'hot rod'.

Probably, and probably just enough gas for one run.

Needs the fenderwell headers (mentioned above) and some kind of bug catcher. The front bumper is too 'new'... needs to be chopped like that shoebox that was posted.

wow that looks remarkably good! Even if its only a rendering of what could be, it still has tons of potential to inspire someone.

A newer Mustang like that would be HOT!

In the latest issue of Hot Rod magazine, they have a drawing of a gasser styled Fox Body. Looks awesome.

Thanks...glad you all enjoyed it. I'll see about adding some fenderwell headers and a few other mods when I get some more time.

Looks more like a 4x4 becouse your missing one key feature. You need to move the front axle/wheels forward. Six inches or more without modifying wheel well area. Then it will look like a real "gasser"!

Needs fenderwell headers and Hilborn fuel injection stacks; or a Jimmy 6-71 with a bug catcher. Also, add a straight tube front axle with some skinny little meats.

If you want a really authentic touch; that front gas tank needs to be a beer keg!

Shoot man...my biz has been dead for the past few months...so I haven't had any $$$ to get them done. Uncle Sam raped me this year and took all the money I made.

I plan on doing them one of these days...as soon as I get a couple more jobs.
