Default Sierra RS!!!

So Im sitting at an intersection in Tilton, and something blue with a massive wing goes by....and I immediately think 'WTF IS THAT A COSSIE?!?!" Of course, there shouldnt be any cossies here in the US, but then again there shouldnt be a Focus RS in the states either......so I follow the mystery Ford to VIP.
And there my friends, is a Sierra RS =D
Fully built replica, this car is BEAUTIFUL. Well built, clean as a whistle, 2.3 turbo running 20psi or so (I forgot) =P The owner was cool as hell, we chatted for a while, snapped some pix, I oogled the Sierra and he checked out the FRS, exchanged websites and emails and went on our way.
What are the odds that 2 euro fords would meet?!?
On to teh pix!!!

Yeah, but you titled the thread "Sierra RS!!!"

Now you NEED to paint your RS Imperial Blue.

How exactly does one acquire these cars?
Especially the RS, is there a back-story?

Theyre both replicas. His started as an XR4, mine a ZX3. From what I gathered, he purchased the vehicle close to completion and just continued the build. Same story on mine.

Not and RS with a 2.3L. The YB makes that car an RS.

OK I stand corrected yes it is a RS replica and not a Cosworth RS. I am glad he did not put the Cosworth badge on it.

Since this is a Pit thread, there's a Cosworth Escort floating around SoCal; the car came to our monthly Sonic meet once. Here it is (I don't know much about these particular cars) back in April 2007 at the Fab Fords Forever show at Knott's Berry Farm:

^^^
FOR the Cossie, he pops up at Cars and Coffee in Irvine once in awhile. I had his business card (i walk ot the Ford Show from my house and was there like the poster before). its up for sale. he is the second owenr here in socal. And Sun international had brought over 20 from Germany.

as fo rthe Sierra there were 2 a few years ago at the Faboulus Ford show. They came from Canada and not replicas. Ther eis also a company in Canada that will take a base XR4TI and they have a conversion ki tot make a Escort Cossie. and replica Seirra and can get the proper Drive trane.

Yep, I met him down there before at C&C. I bring the mush and the SVO from time to time. Ironically the SVO gets more attention than the mush ever does.
good luck

From what I heard Sun International no longer imports them from Richter.
