Default american cars

if you are an automotive journalist writing about where cars are made

isnt it your job to know where they are made AND SOME geography?

cause ill be damed if the mexicans diddnt march right past texas and annex wayne michigan when i wasnt looking.

i allways wonder why i bother with that website...

Leave it to Edmunds to post something just before July 4th in an attempt to make America look bad. I guess they are keeping true to their ways

They have an 08 long-term test focus. I believe the old focus hatch was made in mexico and the sedan in the US.

yes the next gen fiesta and focus are gonna be built in mexico.

all i found is it will be built in north america. so it may not be mexico, but if was gonna be built in michigan, i assume they would say that.

dont get me wrong they have useful things once in a while.

like when they cut journalists and california clarkson worshipipers out of the equation and hand random people keys and a notepad.
usefull and interesting.

and every now and then they say something usefull in a long term test.

but then theyve got the mexicans invading michigan here and there too. - and they do it for a living.
(the journalists)

it'd be nice if he went into some detail as to how he defines being more 'American'. are we talking location of assembly, or the car most popular with the American public, or the most iconic to US way of life, or.....?

'cause if he talking location of assembly and the Pontiac G8 made the list, uhm................

well if you want to define what "IS" is...in the article-

the focus IS not produced, born, hatchoed, squeezed or squirted out of anything in mexico. this is 2008.

SOME (the zx3 and SVT i think?) were or "was" if -were or was is your definition of "is" till the factory quit building them a year or two back. now you may have changed your mind if you thought that, in which case IS isnt and WAS was. my headache hurts. see?

but the sedans were allways from wayne and as far as i know ALL 08ts are (IS) US built only.

The current plan is to convert the Louisville Explorer assembly plant over to small cars, and at the very least, some, if not all of the new Foci will be built there.

Man I can't beleive they forgot the Corvette. Nothing says American like the Corvette in any country I have been in. The Corvette has always been a symbol of the US.
