Nice... I wonder what they did and how much boost they are running. As for "pump" gas... uhh... i'd really like to know.

But doing 9's in any interior car is pretty damn crazy....

good luck

^ I dont know I beleive them because on that pump gas they were upper 9's and when they were running race gas they were in the low 9's

Heres some info...

QUOTE (davidbuschur;6102553)
Thank you all, very much for all the kudos and kind words. I truly appreciate them all.

I am very open about what I do. I do this so I can honestly sell the same parts to people who want them that I sell. I don't hold much back, like "secrets" although I do have a few here and there. They generally trickly out as time goes on and I build up a few new ones. haha Like maybe I like to keep an Ace in the hole.

So, about my car and basically about the changes I have made to it.

First off, as I stated, the car was run on slicks this time, this is the first time ever the car has been on slicks.

Second, the car has been always run on C16 or Q16 for race gas. I took 10 gallons of Q16 to the track with me today. Let me back up for a minute, I was so freaking excited about the track today my stomach was in knots and I was just crazy nervous/excited. So after the car ran the 9.7 on pump we all started talking about making it go really fast on race fuel. I said, "I don't care if we blow this mother freaker up today, I am going to lean on it." I went to get the fuel out of the trailer and I decided because of my attitude the VP Import that was sitting there was my best choice. I put 5 gallons of the VP Import in the car.

Third, the tune. The first run the car was at 10.3:1 AFR's, MUCH richer AFR's than it had been tuned at on Q16. It took the next few runs to get the AFR's back into the high 11.8's that I wanted. Further, it was asked if I could drive around on this tune. Yes, 100%, no problem. The peak boost all day long was 40 psi, the boost NEVER once hit 41 psi. I pulled 1.8 degrees of timing out of the map up top compared to what I had it tuned at on Q16. I went from thinking, "Let's blow it up and go fast." To, "The car is freaking flying, it is holding together and I see no reason to hurt it."

The last thing that I didn't want to touch on but now that I have been asked is, "What turbo is on the car?" Well, I swapped it out from the HTA35r to something else a week ago when I was doing my pump gas tuning. Regretably I did not release this information because I am sick to death of doing testing and then posting the results just to have other shops jump on the band wagon and start selling/pushing the same thing. I am NOT releasing ANY information on the turbo that will let that happen. The market is extremely difficult right now and the copy cat shops need to be put down like sick dogs. I will say it is still a small turbo, T3, the spool up is nearly identical to the HTA35r with more power over 6500 rpm. I found it while testing combinations the week before last. I have them, they are for sale and anyone who wants it can send me a PM for more information. I will not give out ANY specific information though. If you can't bring yourself to buy something from me based on my word, it is not the turbo for you. Sorry, the time has come to protect my business in manners such as this and keeping my testing out of the hands of other shops is the biggest step in the right direction I can take. We have named the turbo, we call it the FS635.

Other details.

BR Stage 3 shortblock, aluminum rods. Standard bore, 2 liter
BR Stage 3 head
BF 272 cams
BR turbo kit with our new FS635 turbo.
BR 3" turbo back with one bullet muffler.
BR Coil on Plug ignition
BR Race FMIC
AEM EMS
BR double pumper
1200 cc injectors
Stock fuel pressure regulator
Stock fuel lines, feed and return
Stock axles
Stock transfer case
Stock rear end, original
Bushwacker Stage 1 trans, 2nd year on it
Tilton clutch
BR lightweight center member
BR lightweight diff mounts
BR mustache bar
Apexi N1 suspension
Robi Spec rear sway bar
Bear front stock sized rotors
Giro stock sized rear rotors
Factory Brembo brakes w/Hawk pads
Pioneer double DIN DVD/CD/FM blah blah
6 upgraded speakers
Full carpet, door panels, head liner, factory seats and all seat belts, back seat and package tray all installed.
NOTHING has ever been cut out of the car.
Factory air bags are inplace and functional.
Robi spec carbon fiber hood and trunk lid.
JDM EVO8 rear bumper cover
BR rear diffuser
BR front fascia carbon fiber block off plates

I think that covers what is on the car and some extra details I don't usually list.

Also, today I trailered the car out to the track and back home. I did this because I was too lazy to change the tires at the track. Actually, I just didn't want to get dirty. haha Just few weeks ago it was driven to and from the shootout, out to dinner afterwards etc. The street ability is A+++.

I hope that covers many things and puts some other things out in the open where they should be.

QUOTE (davidbuschur;6101889)
What a GREAT freaking day. Some days you have bad days at the track, some days you have good days at the track and then some days you have GREAT FREAKING days. They are few and far between but sure seem to make it all worth while.

I had my car on the dyno last week to take another shot at running 9's on pump gas. I was encouraged to do this by VWJeff, Slorice and Spin2GST. The car had previously run a 10.02 at 141 mph on the Hoosier DOT street tires. This time around I decided I'd run the slicks to see if it wouldn't help get us where we wanted to be, the 9's.

I called my good friend Kevin Lawson up and asked if he'd meet me at the track today and see what we could do.

The car had BOTH sides of the tank completely drained of all the fuel and we put 10 gallons of Sunoco 94 in it last week. There was absolutely NO race fuel, octane boosters, nitrous or anything else used.

The first pass in the car the car bogged just a little, it was Kevin's first time on the slicks. The car ran a 10.15 at 144.49 mph. From the looks of the bog and the MPH I knew it had a 9 in it.

The very next pass the car ran a 9.721 at 144.81 mph. Sixty foot was a 1.51. Needless to say we were some happy dudes. Kevin wanted to get right on to the next step, which was race gas but we all decided it was best to back up the pump gas run so there was no doubts. Peak boost was 31 psi.

3rd pass on pump gas was a 9.780 at 143.22. The peak boost on this run was
29, I turned it down from the pass before.

Pump gas record of first in the 9's, done. As Tom says, Game-Set-Match.

Next up was to run the car on the race gas. I was hoping the car would run 9.4's at 155 this year, it did that on the Hoosier DOT streets with Trent in the car early in the year.

Now it was time to see if we could, maybe-just maybe, run a 9.2X with the car, a very hefty goal given the street ability of the car, the weight, the interior, full exhaust blah blah blah. You know a STREET car, no a make believe gutted car for the day to just set a record. I know, it had slicks on it, hopefully most of you can get my point.

First pass, the car comes out OK, 1.54 sixty foot, 9.42 at 151 mph. OK, pretty good, first run on race gas and it is as quick as ever.

2nd run, Trent came out and we started brainstorming on the suspension. A few quick adjustments were made and Kevin goes up for the next pass. We have it on video but the printer did not print a slip, 9.33 at 151 mph again.

3nd run, a few more adjustments to the suspension and the car runs a 9.32 at 152.64.

4th run, a few more suspension adjustments and I start looking at the tune and discussing the two step with Kevin. The track was going away by this time as it was over 4 hours since it saw any attention. We took up a collection and paid the track to spray it up to the 1/8th mile. This was the winning ticket. Sixty foot time was a 1.42, 9.147 at 155.11. Nice.

5th run, changes again. I started to turn the boost up. We had been running 36-38 psi up to this point on the race gas. I wanted to work up to 40 psi. Sixty foot on the next run was the best ever, 1.402! The car runs a 9.111 at 154.76 mph. Outfknstanding!

6th run, few very small changes. Now this is crazy, the track was starting to get a little slippery again, sixty foot was 1.47 and the car runs a 9.25 at 153.88. We all look at each other disapointed! hahaha A 9.25 and we were disapointed, oh the irony.

7th run and final pass was a 1.46 sixty foot and the car clicks off another 9.18 at 154.78 mph.

Overview. 9.72 and 9.78 on straight pump gas at 144 mph.

9.11, 9.14, 9.18, 9.25, 9.32, 9.33 on race gas at 155 mph.

It is just simply freaking amazing to me how fast this car is. Rediculously close to the 8 second time barrier, which I'd have never-ever thought possible in a car you can truly jump in and drive to work or whatever. It's just mind boggling to me.

I have some people to thank of course.

Kevin Lawson for a hell of a job driving it. Daniel and Steve for performing work on it when needed, luckily it isn't very often. Trent for the help today and team work getting the car to work right on these tires. Jim Kitasaki for the insight to build a real intake manifold for the car, this car has a production Wilson V2 on it with our 65 mm throttle body!

Thanks to Jarrod for the kick ass video he is working on right now, should be done tonight or tomorrow. I will post it here in this first post when it is.

Here is the video: http://videos.streetfire.net/video/B...-9s_183131.htm

It was a great day, unbelievable day.

Thanks for reading.

If I remember correctly, JROD (the guy who posted the video) used to be an active member here on FocalJet. I believe he actually posted pics of his white EVO when he first replaced his Focus with it. I do know that I have seen his EVO in a few magazines as it is one of the quickest in the country for a street car. I'll see if I can dig something up.

http://www.turbomagazine.com/feature...iii/index.html

Thats the one... But I cant seem to dig up anything here on FJ. I really dont think I'm making this up!!!

Must not be and NHRA track, no roll bar, no fire extinguishers, and no parachute for over 150mph. Every track I have ever been on would have kicked him out after the first run.
Very quick car, would have like to know what tires it's on. 1.04 60' times is incredible!

It wouldn't matter anyways at that track right? Because at one point he left very early and they deducted it from his original time.

I ran against that car a a Winged Warrior event a few years ago. It ran 10.06 in the quarter on street tires and pump gas and then competed in the autocross. It was by far the fastest car at the strip and almost the fastest on the Auto-x course. Nate
