Skipping head here, but to the apologists... c'mon.

Common sense is not so common nowadays, and some people can justify anything in their minds eye. It takes you two seconds to fill out the form and voice your support and bring it to their attention:

Ahh, read through the whole thread:
In its communications, TheRangerStation.com stated that Ford was making them change the name of their site and pay $5,000. What was not mentioned was that TheRangerStation.com was selling counterfeit Ford-brand merchandise on the site. As a company, Ford has a responsibility to protect our brand and a responsibility to our licensees. We cannot let something like that pass. (The counterfeit goods have been removed from the website since TheRangerStation.com got the letter from Ford's attorney.)
Hmmmm... fail + fail != win. If the problem was selling merchandise w/ a Ford label w/o royalties to Ford, then address that issue directly, and a simple "cease and desist" notice is likely all it would have taken, and if really pinching pennies then along w/ a fine for merchandise already sold.

But what was done here is like a cop issuing a speeding ticket for 1mph over the limit, in order to fix a problem with running red lights. They have absolutely nothing to do with each other, and issuing a ticket for 1mph over makes everyone else in the online community feel threatened that they to may incur the wrath of "the man".

Hopefully both sides learned their lesson here.
