So I was just wondering. all by myself
Could an eagle talon get up to 140mph in oh...say.. 600ft or so? if not could any four banger? what are your thoughts on my totally genuine idea.

I imagine SOME four banger could, but it would be making some serious power with a lot of meat on the ground.
Maybe one of the Buschur Evos?

Thanks. I should have thought my post through before wording it like I did. This is all the info I wanted. Not any street racing thing....

Considering an NHRA Pro Stock car trips the 660' beams at about 165mph, I'm going to say unless its a full-prepped drag Talon (is it one of John Shepherd's cars?) its not gonna happen. Hell, even trapping the 1/4 mile (twice the distance you're looking at) at 140mph means its a serious machine.

^speaking of has John Shepard broken any more of his own record times yet? I think last I saw was a 7.9?
hmmm this was 2006, 3 years ago now at a 7.7, and wow gotta beleive that was a quick fox. http://videos.streetfire.net/video/S...body_83581.htm ^according to his website the last update was in 07 and that car is now torn apart and apparently still not back together.

The answer to this question is yes, it is most certainly possible and has been done. It will, however, be a race car. FWIW, my 600whp 2800lb car went ~106mph in that distance.

I saw it as something different, maybe Im wrong, but I hear people around here talk about a city block as a distance measuring thing, all the time. So I assumed that he didnt mean racing on an actual city block, but in a space the size of a city block, Im sure some idiot told him that his talon will get up to 140mph in a city block, the guy who owns the talon is probably a street racing idiot, but the guy who posted the original post was probably asking whether or not that was possible.
I could be wrong, but thats what I got out of it. and that kinda interested me, so I started this post to see what people thought. Personally, I think any car could get up to 140mph in a city block, with help from a steam catapult. Imagine how far black stig would have gone if they had hooked the jag up to one of those.

FTWall in all, if it was just a "distance" thing then thats fine but he didnt rebuttle that or anything until u brought it up. Whatever it may be, street racing is for losers, track is for winners. ![]() ![]() personally i have seen Talons tweaked to the point of blowing up, mind blowing fast...anything is possible if you dont kno what mods have been done. I know that old platform has some real get up to them, remember a vid of a police chase where he was on a small bend in the road climbing up to 140+ and the cop just couldnt keep up. -chris |

well thats what i said in an earlier post, i should have been more clear that it was indeed just a measuring device. I love the track personally...even though i have only been once. I am almost positive there are very few to no mods on the car. But I am not sure...

So the general answer is that a street legal car could not do it, save maybe 1 or 2?

Street car has arguable definitions, but you'd need pretty much a full blown race car to do it. That is only slightly slower than the ballpark of the fastest dsm based 4g63 cars in the world.
