who's the Michael Cooper guy in the M3? very impressive to get even that close........ and how awesome was it to have Brian Redman in the line up!
Heinricy must be so hardwired to the V by now, there is nothing that could touch him. Ok.....I say Walter Rohrl in a Panamera next.... (edit: holy mother of power underrating.....the Panamera Turbo's numbers in C&D!)

I know it's not. I've been working on a deal for my dirt track car to move up a class, and I've been working on getting this...almost 800hp and 700tq..all in a 2250lb car. ![]()

That particular motor is 415cid, but it's a small block still...it's just bored out...all aluminum.
Guys are getting that horsepower out of 380cid motors, and they range up to about 430cid. It all kind of depends on what size track you race at, as to what displacement motor people run, since you can get a little more torque out of the bigger displacement motors. They are all all aluminum small blocks though.

Jack Baruth isn't on here is he?....
He sounds like a puppet when he's talking. How are you amazed at how consistent a supercharged engine is? I would hope (like any factory designed supercharged engine)... that its consistent. Or like any supercharged engine at all.

That's the beauty of a Supercharger, power from the very second you smash the throttle. Turbos you gotta build up the boost with RPM's and deal with lag. Which is why I'm more of a fan on Supercharged V8's than Turbo. Doesn't surprise me this Caddy has **** and could whoop these other cars without problem. I'd love to see this beast go at it against a Mercedes E Class though.

They're not THAT beautiful... What people seem to forget is that the blower speed is RPM dependent, so your boost curve looks like a straight line rising from idle. You don't get the full smack down low. A well sized turbo will see full boost long before a big blower on a little engine.
...just drive a PWSC Focus as an example... Sure, it has more low-end torque, but it becomes one peaky SOB.

Wait till you drive a car which has too big of a turbo for too small of an engine. When you come off the line you pray your rpm gauge doesn't dip ever below 3k then you lose your boost as what happened to me and you lose the race. Because the owner of the car had too much of an ego to admit the turbo was too much for what he did to it. Or as he said he was just lazy.

You made a blanket statement...not a specific one...which you are mentioning now.
A proper sized turbo is WAY more efficient than a supercharger.

I wish I could say that that's the first uninformed and boneheaded thing that you've said, Bird, therefore I could write it off, but sadly, it's definitely not

It probably has something to do with the fact that it doesn't correlate to you being the expert of all things automotive like you want us to think
