Default Cadillac CTS-V Calling Out All Sedans

Quoted from TrackHQ. GM has been ramping up its advertising 10-fold recently to compare their cars against anything and everything. Wonder how this will turn out.

It was supposed to be Jaguar XFR vs. M5 vs. Audi RS5 vs. Cadillac CTS-V. But Jaguar backed out of the competition (admitting that they'd lose), and its been replaced by an EVO X MR!

I think it's funny that the only reason the EVO is running is because it's what the Jalopnik guys were planning to drive to the event. I wish everyone else wouldn't have pussed out.

I wonder how the Porsche Panamera would stack up?

I'm disappointed that Jaguar pulled out. They said that it was a safety issue because the brakes weren't meant to handle that. IT'S 5 LAPS!!! How couldn't brakes handle 5 laps?!?

I had a CST-V give me pursuit this morning, and then roared by me as I made a turn.

That's a bad-ass car. Period.

It is a hell of a car. I drove one like a month ago or so.... very easy to drive and carries itself really well. I wouldn't mind having one for a daily beater, but I know I couldn;t leave it alone. I'd end up breaking parts left and right. lol

I know where this guy works... at AutoZone ... I see it out there all the time on my way home from work.

I should go in and see what he's done to it, other than an exhaust. It sounds wonderful.

There are several cars I do not see here that would be nice to run against th eCTS-V

Masarati Quadaporte
BMW M5
Panamara
RS6
E64 AMG Balck Edition
Brabus Rocket
Alpina 3 and 5 series
Something from Asia, Mugen I think has something as well as Toy and Nissan in this class
Renault?
Alfa?

Don't get me wrong, I love the CTS-V and continue to look for a good deal on a used one, but I would like ot see a few more cars to comare it to.

No... its a crappy look beater with 30+k worth of race engine, transmission, suspension, race tires, against a very nice luxury car. Saying anything else would be wrong. Such as MR. J2000 has said.

But i'm at least not being an ass.

-------------------------------------------------------

Back on track....

It will be interesting, with almost 200hp more, the CTS will be crushing it on the straights... but from experience those EVO's are annoying in the turns and getting around them is very tough. I wonder if their is a tire handicap?

Don't get me wrong...I LOVE fox bodies...I have been looking for one that is a good solid car that would be great for a restore, but the racecar really sucks up a lot of my time and money...I just don't know if I'd have time to build it the way I wanted to....but it's just that every time someone posts a pic of a mustang (or anything for that matter), you say it's slow because it doesn't have 500hp.

Interesting. I just read an article in Car and Driver that compared two of these. The CTS-V, the Jaguar XFR. They also compared it to the E63 AMG. I bet ya can't guess who won that one? Hint: not the CTS-V. lol

The CTS-V is a nice car. Personally not one I'd own but none the less, a great bargain for the price.
