I freakin hate "baller status"...

let's all be trendy and use trendy words and phrases and clauses...

How about we just make a really nice looking, fast car that will kill your "baller status" car? That's FSWerks approach.

There is only one problem with that though. The typical NBA player will not buy a Focus. So no ammount of chrome, carbon Fiber or aftermarket HID's will ever get the car into "ball-er status". Besides "ball-er" is style over substance. FSWerks went with the opposite. I guess the car is "hate-er" in some books.

Their aim is not for 'baller status', or to be 'murdered out' or all that cliché bolt-on/'tuner'/already been done crap. FS has already proven they can build sick and driveable street Foci.

Their aim is to go out to track days and kick major amounts of ass.

As Randy said in this thread:

Quote:
OK, so the Ford press releases are out. I feel like I need to clarify a few things. First and most importantly, the 500 HP is at the CRANK, not the wheels. This is how we list power figures when we deal with auto shows because the general public just doesn't understand what wheel HP is and you don't have the opportunity to explain that in press releases. Also, Ford and car magazines don't list WHP so it just makes things more confusing for most who read about the car.

And I might regret saying this since it might deflate some of you, but this SEMA Focus isn't finished yet. I don't know if the current fuel set up will support the power we are aiming for. And we are running out of time. However, that is what we are going after. The press release was done a while ago. With SEMA projects you kind of have to say what you are going to do and THEN do it. A bit backwards, but that's how it is since SEMA proposals have to be submitted at the end of February and then you wait for several months before you find out if you are "in."

I don't think the power goal is that hard to reach, but it might not be attainable with the current hardware and time that we have to complete the build. We will see. If we don't hit the numbers we want, we will hit them after SEMA. And actually, my personal goal is well over 500 hp at the crank and I know it can be done with this set up with some tweaks to the fuel system.

I will hold off on the build details for now. Not sure if I will leak those before SEMA or just let the details come out at SEMA. I'm still kicking it around.

Anyway, those are some of the things that are worth noting. We don't want to mislead people, so there you have it. Hopefully, some of you are still excited.

We've got some plans for this car on the track.

The fact that it is a track car, and not a "2nr" baller car a huge stereo is why I love it. It is all function and no fluff.

I love functional builds as well, so I'm guessing my non-wowser feeling it more directed at the 2008-2010 coupe style (and coupled with the gloss black paint). Personally, I just find it so uninspiring, hence why I liked where they took it on the STC car, where their exterior paint and minor adjustments really gave the car a spark of life. Short of the interior treatments (which were done for competition points), they didn't go "2nr" on the exterior of that car.

I'm sure the engine is a work of art. I can't wait to see it.

SEMA seems pretty lackluster this year. Lots of empty space out in the big lots, and in front.

My favorite car of the pics I've seen so far

^^ Purdy, although I think it needs a rear spoiler of some sort. I've always thought the rears of these cars dropped off way too fast without something back there.

The SEMA opinion leader survey had some issues. You can read about it in my blog:http://forum.syracruisers.com/viewto...167&p=209#p209

They went through all the work of making everything clean and smoothing it out and they leave the lock cylinder and door handles on

I would give my Focus RS to go to Sema.

Still we're going to Las Vegas in March next year for our 2nd wedding anniversary (we got married there last year) and my 30th birthday
