And yes.... it does look pretty impressive.
Yellow Blaze 2012 with a Coyote 5.0 swap.... it's stock otherwise...
I like it. Hopefully there will be an ecoboost/manual trans option.
'04 ZX3, 2.3, 5 speed, cossie CAI and flex, SVT brakes and suspension, tons of wheels.
AutoExpress gets an early leak... of the european Mondeo which is basically the exact same car.
Have a look.

Drop Dead Gorgeous!
:edit: Possibly the best looking Ford sedan... Ever, but definitely the best application of the Kinetic design language so far.

Whoa Whoa Whoa!
So if I'm reading that correctly Ford is going the way of the Volt and making a range extended electric version of the Fusion??? That's great news! It’s not only the looks that will be inspired by the Evos; the Mondeo will also lift its powertrain from the concept. The range-extending 2.0-litre petrol engine and electric motors won’t be offered from launch, but will follow. This will allow for an electric-only range of around 50 miles and about 500 miles between fill-ups.

Ford is now going with the corporate front end look as well it seems. Makes me sad, but at least it looks better on the new Fusion than it does on the STs, C-Max, and Focus Electric.

Jase, everybody's doing it.

Auto Express had me fooled. I apologize to everyone for that.
The images eff presented are the real thing. AE's are renderings as usual. I should have considered the source when I posted them as "leaked" photos.
With that out of the way, it looks more fitting to the Kinetic design language. I still think it's the best use of the design theme.
For some, but not for me.
When Ford came out with the New Taurus I loved that look. The 2010 Look. But I agree with you, this new Fusion looks very good.
I am sure Ford's strategy is to have 1 look for better brand identity. Its a fairly common scenario for companies. You wouldnt want to walk into a star bucks shope if they changed the color scheme of that one store to yellow.
I disagree, I think all of Ford's redesigns looks better than they ever had. I was so impressed with the 2012 Explorer, what an amazing and inspiring look.
Waiting for the Focus ST! Currently have a 2011 Fiesta SEL.
Ford ST Nation
I will have to see one at a dealership in person.
Basically its a place where HOLDEN and FORD fans go to have a massive fist fight and then, in the interval when the paramedics goes in some times a car race breaks out! - Richard Hammond
I know why they are doing it, I just don't agree with it. And your analogy is not accurate. A better analogy would be if every Starbucks now added cinnamon to every one of their drinks. It's their "signature taste" like the corporate front ends is their "signature look".
I started a new thread about this so I don't hijack this one.
