Will do.
I know it doesn't have 3.23 gears. I believe it has 3.72's currently, but XR gears bolt to it as well.

Well, regardless, i did kind of just buy a new eaton diff yesterday. still wouldn't mind looking at the irocs for a "spare" but i only need the diff, nothing else. (as you know)
we can continue this discussion via email or on the phone. I'll have a bunch of progress pics when i get to undertaking this... stuffing a GM differential into a merkur case. heh. pretty soon nothing on my car (drivetrain) will be original. eek.

I see Grayson is thinking of offering new Eaton diff's with the spacers for a decent price. Probably cheaper and stronger than a euro 7.0", maybe the 7.5" as well.

Welcome to the area. Next time you're coming up, shoot me a PM. I'm in the same area as well as SVTADAM and smoke3006.

joe yeah i was talking to grayson about that a few days ago. i am pretty sure the eaton will be stronger than the euro 7" (factory is open 7.5" btw) but in terms of strength i'm not sure. I think we know the factory diff isn't that strong, and i proved the euro one isn't that strong...
heh also it wont be cheaper than a euro 7.0". diff alone is over $400 (if he gets the group buy discount) plus you need to factor in the spacers and cases etc. just saying.

Eh, I would use my 7.5" that I have know and put the LSD into that.
How much did you get your 7.0" Euro one for? I see those and the 7.5"s on eBay UK all the time, but never here.

Ray, you aren't running a hydraulic clutch are you? Given my eagerness to jump on a deal and lack of thorough reading...I may need to run one which I'm not actually that upset about.

There are a few writeups on MCAF on how to do it. You can always sell the bell and get a non-87/88 Thunderbird bell.

haha, I'm reading all of them. All I've done so far is bid on a pretty cheap bellhousing that it seems no one else is interested in. It would probably still be cheaper to get the non87-88 TC one rather than try and do hydraulic. But mmm...hydraulic....
crap I might be retarded and it's not even hydraulic...its a 87-93 mustang 2.3 bell. Ok, no more threadjacking lol

I believe so.
The ONLY T5 bell IIRC that is hydraulic is the 87 and 88 Thunderbird Turbo Couple bell.

Last action shots until spring, as we finished our 2008 autocross season yesterday. Did well even with the car being "down" with a stock, open, breath on the throttle and burn tire, differential. It was a lesson in smoothness as we had NO corner exit acceleration. Was able to pull a 1-2 victory in class with myself and my codriver taking first and second, respectively. Overall, great season and while i am unhappy it's already over, it gives us time to get the new rear end figured out while deciding on a few other tweaks here and there for the off season.
anyway, pics: out of the hole = zero accel. had to basically feather the throttle and at no point in time could we dip into it. man, that was hard. ![]() excercising my right to take corners as wide and make everything into a sweeper to maintain momentum. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() here are some shots of smoke3006 having some fun with his 86 xr: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
