Oh yeah!

Or i can go with a lightly modded car with a slightly aggressive suspension that is street legal and quick.

Nah!

That car sat for nearly a decade. Make it live, mang! Even if it is for a brief time. It's like a storyline for some Pixar animated movie about a rust bucket that takes on NASCAR. Eh, in this case maybe SCCA IT-something-or-other.

Didn't find her. She was always there calling for me. My father knew my goals and was afraid i was going to kill myself, or wreck the car. Then i turned my little fofo in a pretty aggressive little car, i figured he realized that if i cant do it to the merk, well... heh.

anyway... I snapped a few shots from the other day i will have to upload and then get here. I need to take a pic of the SVT and the XR together.

Some new pics:

repainted side trim, tinted tails...

mocked up the intercooler mounting after removal of the AC system

yes, that's the IC. no, that's not the radiator. Yes, it's big.

and here is my super custom K&N filter that is just sitting over the stock air tube. adds at least 509q28348905a;a hp.

or something.

actually it's just a recent under hood pic, before final removal of the AC system.

Wow, it's a great story to read, maybe even a movie...
"Once upon a time, there was a boy who desired something he could not have. The boy, now a man has come back to his father's yard to reclaim the dreams which he once had for this car! Coming soon to a Focal Theatre near you!"
Keep it up, hope to do something along the lines for myslef one day.

The rag by the filter is only there since last fall! lol... it's what i use to sort of keep my hands somewhat clean when i'm working on the car.

last night i started mocking up the intercooler piping.

gonna be a few days before i get the intake pipes welded up.

other than that everything fits pretty nice. i had to move the fan over about 10" to clear the piping, and i still need to weld the bung for the BOV and cut / weld the flange for the turbo outlet.

for S&G i chopped 3" off the shifter.

what a pain that was.

under the hood no longer looks stock

mods so far
<ul type="square">[*]manual boost controller. disconnected boost control solenoid.
[*]biggest FMIC i could fit with custom piping (i cant believe how much this costs even on a budget. stupid T clamps are $5 each, and silicone couplers are $2.30 an inch. ouch. plus 2.5" to 2.25" reducers are $25 each. again, ouch.)
[*]shortened (3") shifter
[*]3" high flow cat, 3" muffler. gonna dump the exhaust in front of the rear wheel.
[*]accel plug wires (!!!)
[*]lightly polished intake manifold, upper and lower.
[*]forge motorsports BOV[/list]
once that's done i'll see how i like it. haven't even driven the car on the street yet.

pics to follow once i weld up that stuff and finish painting the charge pipes.

Intercooler is mounted and piping is done up. Might change it a little later, but for now it works. BOV is installed, etc etc etc.

I took a bunch of pics. I'll upload them later and post. Next up is the 3" exhaust.

Looks good. Isn't there any way to clean/strip some of that rust off of the block and manifold?
