History: Believe it or not, this started out as a 2000 Windstar Limited minivan, at least that’s what we ordered from the local dealer. Since the dealer didn’t have the guts to tell us we missed the final date for assembly of Windstars and we were in desperate need for a car with air conditioning because our ’88 Accord was on its last legs we went to the dealer to see what we could work out. As we walked on to the dealership I noticed a brown Focus ZX3 sitting by the front doors. At the time I didn’t care one way or another about the Focus, but the 16” polished rims, roof rack, bike tire tread side moldings and that color really intrigued me. The more I looked at the car the more I liked it, and it came with a bike as well! So we bought it after “test fitting” our family of five. We decided it was to become my car after a year, at which time we would look for a car for my wife…another minivan. So once we got the car I started looking on-line for information about it and stumbled upon Focaljet.com. I discovered all that could be done to modify it and make it even more unique. My life hasn’t been the same since! I’ve made a ton of new friends and spent an uncounted amount of time and money because of this car. I believed I had gotten over the car addiction but once again became intoxicated with cars and horsepower, thus my screen name…Hooked Again. After six years and several changes of direction as to how and what I wanted to do with this car, the addiction is still strong. I never thought I would keep the car this long yet I still have more I want to do to it. I love driving it everywhere and have no problem driving long distances. I also have never had a major problem with the car even considering it’s a 2000. I don’t “baby” it but I do take better care of the Kona than our other cars. I think I’ll keep it another six years! |
