I was a bit annoyed it took me until now to get the car up and running right. It sat for 6 months while winter did it's thing, now it's back out. Not much changed since the fall, if anything. Just excited to be driving it again after driving the Ranger and Micra everywhere for the last 4 months.

So clean you could perform surgury on it

I never gave you crap about your car bra, I just don't like them, they leave marks along the top edge from dust and shifting from wind and temperature changes. I used to have one on my first car and it wore into my clearcoat. After awhile you'll start to miss those easy to fix stone chips. I'd rather just get a clear fil protectant applied that you can't see. I seem to also remember giving you some helpful advice about your grille as well and not being outright rude towards you.

The car came with the doors, I bought it used. I was debating pulling the hinges in the winter, even had a for sale ad up for them, so I wouldn't call it being proud of them. They do draw alot of favorable attention at car shows and I've actually met a few other car guys who saw the doors open and came over to talk. Do people walk up and ask about your bra?

looks great, but the headlights just kinda look outta place in my opinion. Maybe a set of color matched machs or st170s. looks great otherwise.

Yeah I've wanted to replace the headlights with some ST170s for awhile now, just haven't gotten around to it since the car was put away all winter. They are the grey 03-04 housings though and match up to the LG pretty well, although in some pictures they look way off.

Figured I'd add to this post instead of making a new one since it's only been a month.

1st weekend in May is the first cruise night I go out on with my friends. We usually call up a few other people we know and get a bunch of cars together. Not much here as far as a Focus only community goes, or even a hatchback group. Our group includes compacts, trucks, imports, domestics, and a couple bikes. We're all car people though so we all get along great.

I put the car through a pretty heavy duty detail today inside and out. Vaccuming, shampooing and cleaning the interior completely, then stripping the old wax and rewaxing the whole thing.

I figured the engine was just too dirty, so I gave it a good once over, then did it again. I died my firewall black again, and tried to dye my air filter blue again (the cleaner kit turned it blue-grey) and it came out pretty crappy and blotchy... time for a new one I guess.

The car got 2 coats of Meguiars #26 topped with two coats of NXT then a coat of show glaze. Turned out pretty good.

Thinking of selling these wheels after driving on them for a couple days again, maybe look for some big lip BBS wheels and go full out euro.

Wheels are 18x8" TeamDynamics Monzas, tires are 215/35R18. I've had some pretty good luck with these wheels so far. I sold these last September locally for way more than they were worth, then managed to re-aquire them for nothing after the guy who bought them wrecked his car. I have a buddy that works at the scrapyard, he saw the car come in with my wheels and called me up to come get them. Two of the tires are in rough shape as the VW they were on had major rubbing issues.
