It was never supposed to go this far. After owning my 94' Eagle Talon for a little over 2 years, I was kind of getting bored of it. At the time, there wasn't much interest in the early DSMs. I wanted a car I could modify here and there, and have fun with. I knew I wanted something different, so I started looking. I knew I didn't want a Honda. But was leaning more towards something domestic. So I started looking at Z24 Cavaliers. Drove a couple, and never really like any. They seemed to handle sloppy, and the gearbox was as worse. While still looking, I was reading a magazine with a red and black Focus in it. Turns out, it was HCI, with a car called "Tribal". I instantly fell in love with the Focus. I hadn't heard much about the Focus until then. So I found a local dealer with a automatic CD Silver hatchback. I really liked the design. And I loved the interior. Drove it. I loved the handling. But was unimpressed with the power. So I kept looking. Found another dealer in town with a "dark blue" Focus ZX3 with a stick. Went out and drove it. And loved it. The handling was there. And the gearbox really made the car come alive. But I was really hoping for a black or white one. This was on Tuesday. Thought about it over-night. Decided, I really liked the car, and if they still had the car on Saturday, then I would go out and pick it up. That Friday, I picked up a Twilight Blue ZX3. I knew already I wanted to modify the car a little. So I read through the Tribal article again, and at the end of the article, was a website. Focaljet.com. First modification was a set of taillight covers a week after I got the car. It hasn't stopped since. The car has turned into an absolute addiction. Started ordering rims, exhaust, intake, body kit, springs and littles stuff here and there. Early summer of 05, a friend called the car, "My Chromed out G'ride". Thats when the car got its name, Chromed(or Chromie). Nine months of ownership, I took a trip down to JetFest 05'. Turned out to be an eye opener of Forced Induction and AutoXing.... A lot of thanks goes to my ole' man for all the help he's put into the car thus far. Also thanks is in order to Ron, The Man of FocalJet, Tony at New Edge, Randy & Ivan at FocusSport, Ricardo at F2 Focus, and Steve-O, the parts guy @ Tousley Ford (local crack dealer). Another big thanks to Rob of the Tribal, for giving me inspiration in the first place. All the peeps of [FJ]. And a big shout out to the thugs of mnfocus.
