Default 1st Mods to the Miata done

Man these were a Biiiiaaaattch to install.
Took all day and my fingers are killing me because these things had some tiny parts that were very difficult to get situated.

Here are a few pics:

Old

New

I also added an S2000 Shorty Antenna. Sitting on my living room floor are 2 amps, an alpine head unit, subs, and speakers for the new sound (1st time I've ever done a sound upgrade on a car).

And finally I have an S2000 start button which I will be installing soon. It's amazing how many mods there are for this car!

you should've gotten the flush mount ones, like the headlights don't pop up anymore, and they are just 2 small circles like those ones, but oh well, those are cool too. when's the turbo going on?

Actually IMO the flush mounts look like crap, and the lighting is horrible because they are mounted so deep the front of the car stops the beam from hitting the road.

Turbo is being ordered in Jan

Here's a pic of flush mounts... IMO it just looks wrong and doesn't fit the car. But you can see what I mean about how deep they are mounted and why the lighting is so poor.

sooo glad u didn't go with the flush mounts! my friend also opted against them, similar to yours but not sure of the same model. They are only good on a few cars i have heard of: Vette (HID flush), RX7 (Flush HID), and MR2's are supposedly amazing over stock.

can't tell you how eager i am to see updates on her man, really looking forward to it!

NICE!!! I can't believe how big of a difference the headlights can make, but damn, that's awesome. Very RX7-ish.

The wheels will be gone soon, problem is the wheels I have picked out are 1600.00 so give me a bit

And while there are xenon upgrades for the miata (not sure for this kit), it's not easy, as you have to add the ballast and the power draw it alot different. These are projector, and while the pics dont show it, they throw out a TON of light. They dont look yellow, they have a hella look to them (well they are hella's). So that slight blue tint is there, not really blue, just slight, kinda like Xenons, but the light isn't as "clean" as Xenon's.

Wheels, Turbo, Coilovers, Clutch, and a few other choice parts are coming soon.

I was expecting the first mods to be a 5.0L cammer, but I guess this will work.

Keep it up. Miatas are neat cars.

So soon! So soon!

If you need any advice on the audio setup, come visit us down in the ICE forum.

I really like the headlamps - before they were... "HI OMFG HELLO" and now there more like "Hey, kitten. Wanna come out to play?"

Are you going with the FMII set up from Flyin' Miata?

I learned a lot about those little cars when I had mine, and between Corky at Bell and FM there are some great resources for making Miatas move quickly....

Actually I'm going with the FM VooDoo as that is the kit they are testing for CARB approval right now. It's the 8PSI kit and costs 2900 dollars but the hardware is no different than the FM II just the electronics (tuning) are different.

Once I get that CARB sticker, THEN I'm purchasing the Standalone ECU (Hydra), and injectors and will bump it to 12PSI. They are seeing nearly 300whp on 12PSI with the better tuning options.

Can you imagine a 2200lb car with 300whp? Youch.
And I'll change my sig when the focus is gone

Haha Hocky.. umm that is to much of a project for me, that's more down your alley

I will DEFINATELY need help on the audio install. I'm clueless when it comes to audio, and while I want to do it myself to make sure it's done right, I have to make sure it's not a hack job with wires everywhere.

The amps are the biggest problem. Last time I wired up an amp it was done horribly crappy and never really worked right, but I knew squat about cars back then.

I wish you audiophiles lived in So Cal

Everytime I see a Miata from the front, especially a white Miata, I think of the Staypuff Marshmellow man.

When you going to lose that chrome?

And those lights are a big improvement.

The chrome wheels are gone in Late january I hope.
The Chrome Style bar should be replaced with a black roll bar hopefully no later than March.

And the turn signals will be replaced with these air scoops:
