One last update before this gets put to bed. Got to the track yesterday to run the car on NT01s for the first time (VERY similar behavior to RA1s) and the new FS camber kit. The car ran very well. Definitely sold on the NT01s. The only glitch was that the top nut on the driver's side camber kit worked its way loose (after hitting a rumble strip probably), but after applying a little torque wrenching -- that was that.

It was a great day at the track in Portland, warm (almost hot) and well-run.

Between sessions:

A couple small digicam videos:

I have it, but have not had time to convert a lap to a web-friendly version. My computer does not have the proper port (it's a work computer), so I have to use the household portable which is pretty much getting heavy usage by the other family members.

Ok, here ya' go Steve...It's not the best resolution, but at 8+MB for one lap, I figured something small would be best. This is more or less representative of my in-the-clear laps for the day. There are basically three places where I KNOW I can shave time with little risk, but given the changed insurance environment, I'll be working on these changes gradually.

I lost my old video server (again) so finally got around to switching to YouTube and fixed the embedded links here.

I was out with the Mustangs Northwest guys (and a couple of Focus buddies) last week, so I've added another little in-car video to this thread (posted to my local crew last night too). I might update this thread with this kind of stuff from time to time, especially if I visit a new (to me) road course or something.

Mine's not much of a show car...I'm too lazy to cleanup after all the bugs and tar.

Default Winter 2008 update

Rather than start a new thread, I decided to bring this one back from the dead with a couple of winter update pictures. After seeing several nasty rollover accidents at our local road course and hearing about others, I opted to get the front half of my cage finished off. It was not a cheap retrofit, but the builder did a good job of keeping the tubes tight to the interior without completely gutting the car. Here are some pics of the finished work.

I opted for a compromise side intrustion bar (vs NASCAR style or the rally-style X bars) as this car is only ever going to see HPDE usage. If someone *else* in the future wanted to use this car for other purposes, I think switching to another full cross tube to replace the brace I've got would be relatively easy (for an X at least).

This last one shows the relocated SPA Technique gauges. I might switch them because the bottom display of the gauge closest to the steering sheel is obscured by the wiper control lever. My least important reading will be water temp, so that's the one I could live without on-track.

Not real happy with the digicam just now. My daughter was messing with it and something seems off with the white balance and the exposures in general. Where is that manual?
