And it looks like I should be done dealing with the DMV after today. Picked up the "Early American" plates woohoo

Washed. Clay bared. Waxed. 3 times. Meg's cleaner wax and two coats of NXT. She shines up nice for being 22 years old. An orbital buffer would have been nice, but I don't have one nor know how to use one.

Yeah. I paid sales tax on the amount shown on the Bill of Sale.

That isnt too bad. Sucks though.

Paint came out looking good. Cant wait to see the shine in person. It will really look good when you get that front grill painted. Hopefully its not going to be too difficult to match.

Tell me...did you wax the door jams?

I guess I made my first XR "fix" today. The spring from the automatic adjuster for the clutch decided he was too cool for the plastic adjuster and flew off leaving me clutchless (Yeah, that's a word. I just made it up. Want to fight about it?). I ended up manually adjusting the auto adjuster and getting home. Good times.

WTF m8 is right. Found one on eBay for $20 if mine is broken. Comes with ratchet, pawl, and two bushings. NIB.

If this breaks three times...which would be in about 60 years...it's still cheaper than the Godfrey piece.

Got some stuff done today. Disconnected the wires to the antenna motor since that is shot. Now I can use the radio without lighting the motor on fire. Busted out some cassettes...The Cars. Greatest Hits. 1985.

Disconnected the electronics to the hatch lock to prevent further damage to the locking mechanism. Also, got the passenger seatbelt installed. Hatch is a bit more naked now as well. I need to get some rust stop stuff or whatever it's called.

Yes, the hatch struts are blown.

Cool, thanks Ray.

Nah, no new engine bay shots. I need to clean it up a bit first.

Joe, before and after shots. Before and after.

tsk, tsk. it doesn't have to be pretty to see improvement on what you recieved. that's like saying "i dont want to take a picture of the engine bay until i've finished my LSx twin turbo swap, when what people are REALLY interested in seeing is how you go to where you got to, not just the finished snapshot.

It must have freed up. I did put some PB Blaster in when I first got it and then I've been throwing some white lithium grease into it. Put the key in, turned it and pushed.
