The Competitors
and the winner: OmniFocus! My Focus was assembled in June of 2000, making it 7 years old, and has been in my hands for six. I bought it used with 5445 miles on the clock. Within weeks I ordered autocross tires and started beating on it thoroughly. I've been in love ever since. Last I checked it had 114,4xx miles on it. Right around late 2005, the mod bug hit REALLY hard and the car went through a fairly major transformation from daily driver to weekend backroads and track toy. I 've always tried to keep function before looks, with a few notable exceptions. My future plans are to drive it... a lot. It only racked up about 3,000 miles from July 06 to July 07, mostly due to the time consumptive nature of large and expensive modifications on a shoe-string budget. I think the result has been well worth it, but I need to now enjoy the fruits of my work to make it all ultimately worthwhile. Original Stockness... I bought the car in Oregon the day I moved to California. (July 2001) ![]() My second track day, hot on my heels is the famous Murphmobile. I like what you've done with your ride Lorin
Now you have to make up for all that lost time in the driver's seat.

Youdaman Omni. Your car was built the same month as mine!
You are a damn good driver, too. You are a [FJ] hero of mine.

Great pic story!
Car looks fantastic; IS fantastic. CoRgratulations. Here's proof as to what a great car the Focus is. You've taken the most problematic model year, maintained it well, modified it perfectly (svt rear bumper, please!) and have lavished it with tlc. And to cap it all off, that car (with your mods and with you driving) broke the two-minute barrier at the hill! ![]() Well done, sir!

Congrats my friend. It's well deserved and I absolutely can't wait to see the car's new paint and body pieces all installed.

One of the fastest becomes one of the sexiest.
Amazing that it has so many miles on it. A testament to the care that you give it. |
