Another update to post 1. Sitting lower now after about 50 miles. The project has now been deemed "The speckled trout". Weather permitting she'll be painted friday.

should hold up well, we used the same paint on my buddies Nissan a year ago and it still looks good even through the salty winter months

Yea thats my first tape job as ya can kinda tell. I think it actually looks much better in person, not to mention now that i've trimmed out it looks like the board walk at ocean city maryland in mid summer, which makes things look worse then they are.

It is supposed to rain tomorow evening around 7 and I get out of work around 3, it just so happens my rents are out of town and have a 2 bay garage which I can paint in if need be so i'll be finishing there. I dont want to be rushed and half ass any steps. I'm gonna then untape, take pictures to post up on here and park the truck to allow adequate drying time and drive my dads truck until the weather clears up.

I have also factored up my build cost with purchase price! It turns out to be under 500 dollars. Thats with an oil change, tune up, coolant flush, new belts &hoses, new alternator, tensoner, and battery etc.... and so on.

Good intentions, poor execution. I dont know why you spent all that time preping the car and then spray paint it. Paint guns arent that expensive.

Cause thats the mini truck thing and I dont have an air compressor handy for a gun. Not to mention if it gets messed up all I have to do is take the can to it and fix it. Every time I have something done nice something like this happens to it (note the rear bumper).

Not to mention it's no dime peice, just a cheap daily beater turned into a little project to learn off of. I agree it could have been executed better but then I would have just taken it to a body shop and wouldn't have learned a thing. One of my nice cars is a project in my signature though and trust me it will be executed perfectly.

hmm.... I would have just left it all black. Looks much more subtle and rat-roddy that way. Esp. if you bought some steelies and did those red or something.

I was thinking about that but theres already a few other trucks in the area running around like that.

For paint it took 8 cans of black and 6 of the aluminum.

You know what I would suggest!?

How about some blue or red...or orange painted pin striping to accent the flames...much like what Tribal had.

I be that would break up the two colors and clean up the flames quite a bit!

I like it your right about it being a mini truck thing though. Now you just need to bag it so you can drag the piss out of it to give you an excuse to repaint haha. Looking good though man been following this from the beginning and Really like where this is going!

Then blue striping gets my vote. Dark blue, though. Light blue would make the grey look too washed out.

^are you serious? Did you not see the state that it once was? There were 6 inch rust holes in the fenders. This was a parts yard truck dude. If my truck looks plain then you either didn't look at all the pictures or your totally blind.

I also added more pics

That truck looks pretty B.A., You did an awesome job.
i think a bright green would look pretty cool, seeing as how you said thare are a few trucks with the black and red. a lime green, just alil, think it would look good

the only thing i though of, was withe the truck with its state and its age, after dropping it, how long till something breaks... but it may hold up nicely.

Awesome Job, Awesome truck
