When I was looking for Huffs I saw your ad... not a bad trade at all. I wish I could have done that but my Classix are scuffed to hell... I am going to sand them down and have a friend powder coat them black chrome for a winter set.
I finally got suspension figured out... Koni FSD/Nuespeed sport springs, and I should have done that before wheels, but oh well. I got Borbet Type XLs in Black. I plan on getting my windows re-tinted soon, and some euro R32 style tails. Keeping a black on silver theme. I'll get pics once I get the suspension on. ![]()

I love these cars. How reliable has it been, and what kind of gas mileage have you been seeing if you don't mind me asking?
The Huffs look freaking awesome man, I love those wheels. When the GTI first came out I saw a white one in a parking lot at the local movie theater with the Huff wheels, and my jaw dropped GTI might just be my next car ![]()

Mine has been very reliable... being an 06 (first year for NA) it has it's issues, but I deal with them and get them fixed... very similar IMO to the common issues albeit different, than my SVT had. The main difference is the GTI has a warranty, where many SVTf's aren't anymore.
Fuel economy around town is 22-24 (18 if I'm having fun)... on a local highway averaging 55 mph, I was getting 36 mpg... last week I was driving to Ohio for my Grandpa's funeral, to Michigan, and then back to Arkansas and cosistantly saw 28 mpg averaging 73 mph (based on the MFD- Multi-Function Display)... I didn't think that was too bad, but I think I got better mpg with the SVT on the interstate... though I had a tune which helped a lot too.

for real especially on RS ![]() http://img.photobucket.com/albums/08.../GTI/vdub2.jpg eggyolk go for the 2" drop not the neuspeed sports. you might as well just put the sport springs on the stock shocks. thats how mine is set up. nothing special at all and not low enough for 18s. ![]() oh and johnny to answer your question i get 18-22mpg in town and 28-32 on the highway. when driving cross country in my car i was ~30mpg for 800 miles or so doing 60-80mph usually with cruise control on. but i did have a considerable amount of luggage with me. as far as problems... i got an airbag fault from the cheap connectors they use under the seats. my "soft touch" window switches are peeling. and i had a seat cover replaced since it wasnt cut right at the factory and seperated from the rear seat access handle. i had the stereo bass issue fixed as well with a simple software update when they performed the headlight adjuster cap recall. and i had a friend use vag com to adjust the speedometer to read more accurate |

I didnt even realize I commented on this thread when it was new!
I love the Huff's, they are just amazing wheels. I'd be happy with either those or some BBS/TSW's on a MKV. I recently did a bunch of research on these and visited the normal tuning sites (APR, etc..) and besides the lack of LSD its a great car all around. I even went and test drove one. Black, 6spd, w/ the awesome plaid seats. It was a ton of fun to drive and the quality of the interior was waay above my focus. Plus I could actually fit!!! 77 inches= not easy to fit in most smaller cars. Verdict- serious contender for my next vehicle. And holy cow, a few things from APR and this car would be plenty fast, let alone throwing on a K04...yeesh.

I usually get about 26mpg on the freeway. 30 if im playing nice. I haven't had anything really go wrong with the car. I am really hoping to get APR software soon. I would like to get the lowers painted as well but I haven't had the money to do so. My plan was to get the votex front and sides and a r32 rear. Would look pretty awesome.
