I was realy hoping this theme would bring out some people with a lot more CF on their cars. It was a big tossup between REVSWIN and steve7786 for me, so I said F it and voted for steve cause he has three CF parts; REVSWIN has two.

It's not about who has the most carbon fiber. It's about which car you like the best that fits into the category.

If the category is "Best Red Focus", it's not about which Focus has the most red paint......

What?! That makes no sense. So all of a sudden, custom parts that have never been seen before, relating to the competition is irrelevent, because a near stock Focus has 1 piece of carbon attached to it???? Priorities of these comptitions must be way out...

The priorities of FOTM is up to the community as a whole... The cars are nominated by the community and voted on by the community, so if the community decides they want to vote for the package as a whole, then that is the way it shall be.

If the RS owner was an active member of the community with a genuine presence, then he no doubt would be near or at the top of the voting.

It's just for fun... it isn't like we get a box of cookies out of it.

August 07 FOTM was for cars with over 100K miles. Here's who won:

Going by your basis for this Carbon Fiber category this month, the car with the most miles should have won. But it didn't. The only criteria required to be in that competition was to have over 100K miles. The rest was up to each person to decide which car was their favorite.

Our December 07 FOTM was for white cars. Guess which car won:

Looks pretty stock from the outside doesn't it? Well, the majority voted for him based on what he has done to the engine and the fact that he does performance events with the car like auto-x and rally. Plus, two of the other cars in the running were white with white wheels. Does that mean the one with the most white should have won to you?

It has been stated many times before, it is up to each individual to decide how they decide which car is FOTM for them. It's not just about how well it meets the monthy criteria, or just about how it looks. Some vote for the car they think looks the best, some vote on the car that best meets the category for the month, some vote for their friends, some vote for the car that is used the most, some vote based on a combination of all these and many more criteria.

If it was simply "who has the most CF?", then it wouldn't be an opinionated vote, it would be a quantitative decision that wouldn't need the entire comunity to decide.

You're obviously missing the point. The voting is for each individual's favorite car, and the only requirements to be in the voting is to have a single piece of visible carbon fiber. There could be a car with a full carbon fiber chassis, body, engine, and tires, and it still might not win. Figure it out.

It's all good. COCHYN complained about my car in the December, too. Something about a stock Focus frolicking in the dirt.

But now he's saying he likes stock looking cars.

I'll say it just like Jason said it to me. This entire deal is for fun. Everyone should quit complaining or dogging out everyone else's cars, and who should or shouldn't be getting more votes and just have fun with it. Vote for what you want.
