Default NOMINATIONS for March NFOTM: WTF? I thought this was FOCUS of the Month?

Alright, people have been asking for it, now here it is:

WTF? I thought this was FOCUS of the Month?

Yup, your Focus is NOT ELIGIBLE for FOTM this month. This month's NFTOM, or Non-Focus of the Month is open to any current, active member's car that ISN'T a Focus.

When nominating, please include a picture of the person you are nominating. The top 5 cars with the most nominations at the end of the nomination period will go into the final voting.

Here are the overall rules as a reminder:

Each month there will be a competition for the Focaljet, Focus of the Month. Here are the guidelines:
  • Must be a current active member of FJ to be considered.
  • Car owner or any other member may nominate the car.
  • Each member may nominate ONE car. Any other nominations made by that member will not be considered.
  • Cars to be considered for FOTM must be officially Nominated in the Nominations thread.
  • Each month will have a theme. Please nominate a car that fits into that theme.
  • Picturtes of the car should be put in the thread.
  • Entries will not roll over to the following month.
  • The 5 cars with the most nominations will go into a poll for the members to determine the winner of each month's FOTM.
  • FOTM will get a sticky thread for the next month all about the car and the owner AND the car featured on the main page of Focaljet.
  • Winners of FOTM can not be considered for future FOTM with the same car.

Nominations will end on February 26th with voting starting shortly after that.

belacyrf's turbomiata gets my nomination...but...

It might be helpful if you members with non-Focus cars post pictures of your non-Focus cars (self-nominate) in this thread so other potential nominators can get some ideas as to which cars to nominate. Might make it more interesting to see a wider variety of cars.

Default Re: NOMINATIONS for March NFOTM: WTF? I thought this was FOCUS of the Month?

Um...why not.

This is my wife's 1995 Neon...we call it "Lumpy". Its only mod is some cheap Walmart hub caps, an aftermarket mirror, 2 carseats, and got knows what my 2-year old and 4-year old have ground into the carpeting.

So what makes it special?

One word, longevity. This car has literally been to Hell and back and stubbornly refuses to die. Its a bad cliche, but we bought this car from a little old lady who only drove it to church on Sundays last year with only 44K on it. 44,000 miles on a 13 year old car is not bad at all. Since then my wife has run the dog out of it. I've changed 12 tires, a fuel pump, some gaskets, a battery, an alternator, some tie rods, and made numerous fixes that aren't perhaps up to code.

...and one cat. Thats right, I found a dead cat underneath the hood. Whats really sad is the same thing happened with her Intrepid that I rolled it last year (some guy cut me off on an icy highway and the car rolled over twice and amazingly still drove after I took out a massive sign on Highway 75).

Then it started leaking gas really bad. After tracking down the issue and replacing several gas lines, my wife revealed the car was "slightly" overdue on its oil change...by only 7K miles. I change it and then we started having electrical issues. I rerouted the stereo to the fuse compartment under the hood and it kinda worked for a bit.

Basically this is the little car that could. Vote for it. and I'll send you a piece of it as soon as it falls off.
